If you want to get away from the crowds and enjoy a little piece of heaven make the trip to Palm Beach. Right at mile marker 57 follow a very bumpy dirt road and at its end park. You will walk through a palm tree forest ending on a beautiful beach. You might run into several curious unharnessed horses. Once... More

This gem of a beach is at the end of a twisty, turny, rocky and rutted dirt road. But it's totally worth the drive as it is private, stunning and pristine. You may find three or four other cars there, but that will be all. You'll have this piece of paradise mostly to yourself. The water is warm, the waves... More

This is a lovely secluded beach where horses will wander up curious about what you have in your cooler. There's some ambiguity about whether it's safe to swim there. My family mostly just played in the shallows of the water, enjoying the waves without going out too deep. We brought our lunch along because there are no amenities (e.g., rest... More

Las Palmas is off rt. 19 at Kilometer marker 57. Don't look for a sign, there is none. Well worth the bumps and dips along the road to get here. Beautiful beach, and generally swimmable most days. Surf can be rough at times, so beware. No worry about crowds at this beach. Lovely

As with most of the area's beaches, this one is down a long, dusty and rutted dirt road, but it is well worth the trip. One of Mexico's former presidents is rumored to have owned the hacienda now in ruins next to the parking lot of this gorgeous beach. Walk through an intense palm grove down a foot path and... More

This is a spectacular, uncrowded beach, at least it was when we were there. We were the only visitors and had the entire playa to ourselves. Great swimming, solitude, the occasional pelican. What else do you need?

A great stretch of beach at the end of a dirt road and a short walk. We were there over Easter Week and practically had the beach to ourselves. Keep an eye our for huge sand dollars buried in the wet sand. Stay for the sunset, but watch out for livestock in the road on the way out. While you... More

A tranquil, peaceful, beautiful beach that is off-the-beaten-path, and always uncrowded. The sand is hard-packed and easy to walk on. The waves break a distance out, so it's also very safe. An absolutely gorgeous place to spend an afternoon!
