Went to the small pubelo of Cuatro Cienegas, and toured the town. There are two museums worth seeing there, the museum of history, and the casa of Venustiano Carranza- the author of the Mexican Constitution. Both are a simple low cost donation. The town itself is very small and quaint. The Cuatro Cienegas park- it is a must you book... More

When visiting your best choice for accommodations is Hotel Plaza. If low budget try el Diablo at hotel Ibarra. It will be noisy. I did not... More

I actually traveled here the first time in November 2009, it's a bit off the beaten track but well worth a visit. Nowadays, Northern Mexico can be hairy, so proceed with caution. We took an 8 or 9 hour overnight bus from Zacatecas to Monclova (easily the grayest city on earth), where we rented a car to finish the additional... More

We took a day trip from Piedras Negras, Mexico to visit Cuatro Cienegas. We were spending the summer on staff with a house-building mission group. So, we had heard of this place and decided to take off and find it. Almost 4 hours of driving later, of which we went through some awesome tiny towns in the middle of nowhere,... More
