I stayed at the El Mirador hotel, that overlooks the cliffs of La Quebrada. Every day during the day and the night there are diving shows which made Acapulco famous. The location in on top of a hill that overlooks these cliffs. It is about a 40 minute drive from the airport. There are some bars and restaurants to enjoy a drink and have local food. Tour buses show up for the diving shows. There is enough parking here. If you want to tour the local area, just walk down the hill and experience the local people and culture. It seemed very safe here as there was plenty of security. If you want to splurge, visit the La Perla restaurant that overlooks the cliffs and have a great view of the diving show.

I went today to see the show (cliff diver) at el Mirador. Around 7pm 2 spotlights were too bright and all the customers at El Mirador can barely see the show. The waiter told us that the divers want to have more money from the hotel and it has been two week already since they put strong spot light to the restaurant. The spotlight was so annoying we could not see the divers nor took a vdo. we paid our bill and rush to the stair outside.

The name means "the broken" since the cliffs were dynamited to quarry rock for a hotel (according to a sign at the scene). The cliff views are amazing and the cliff divers death defying. There was a carnival atmosphere each night as the locals congregated to view the divers. Every visitor to Acapulco should include this site at night.

This is where the famous cliff divers of Acapulco demonstrate their diving skills. This takes place at the hotel Mirador at the La Perle restaurant. You will need to buy a drink and tip the divers who come to you for money. These divers gracefully leap off the cliffs into shallow and dangerous waters 140 feet below.

I looked at many lists of things to do in Acapulco and this was in the top three on most of them. I agree.

The first show starts at 7:00 p.m., it's worth paying a few dollars to go down to the observatory deck, and it's just a great experience.

Read about the famous divers who have been jumping for decades and wanted to check it out for myself since
I was in Acapulco. I paid 100 pesos ($5-6) to enter. Once we got in, we walked down a bunch steps to get a good spot to take in the diving. I don’t think it really matters where you are. The divers are diving above you. The show starts about 10 mins after the hour. The show it short but fascinating. Amazing to watch.

Came here as a child of 12 in the Acapulco of old, and still it has the same feel today. Granted it's a paid entry now.... Yet the divers do not disappoint, these daring souls leap out and truly dive off the cliffs... a heart-stopper for spectators. Worth the visit!

I found this place very nice because I really liked the sea. At the beginning I was afraid to get into it but then I started swimming and I felt very calm, it is not a very expensive place, it is accessible and it fits my budget. My stay in Acapulco was the best, everything seemed good to me, the lodging, the food, the culture and the society, the only bad thing that happened to me was that I burned too much due to the strong heat.

The visit to the see cliff divers was part of a long our around Acapulco. I have known of these divers for many years having seen them on UK TV in my youth. Our guide told us about the history which was very interesting. We had a great vantage point to see the performance which was amazing. This is an essential part of a visit to Acapulco.

I have always wanted to see these cliff divers ever since I saw them on a sports TV show. The jumps are from very far and it is truly impressive how brave and beautiful the divers are. It is fearsome but it is a tradition and worth the time to visit.
