Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This review and rating are specifically for Playa Santa Cruz located in Santa Cruz Bay. Although Santa Cruz Bay is pretty nice, Playa Santa Cruz was full of locals and cruise ship passengers, just too many people. There are far too many beautiful beaches that Huatulco has to offer to really spend time at Playa Santa Cruz.

VERY crowded. Restaurants dominate. Not relaxing! Ugly pier for cruise ships. Water murky. Not beautiful/peaceful.

The great thing here is that if you visit by cruise ship then you berth at a pier that is just a short walk from a fine sandy beach.

We walked from downtown La Crucecita (there's a nice pedestrian path) to this beach. Very still waters, great for swimming, with restaurants right on the beach. Water very clean and nice color. Cruise ships dock here, it was quite busy even without one. Not the best of the bays but worth checking out if in the area.

Arrived via cruise ship and had a fabulous few hours here. Just set up at one of the beach restaurants for the day. We swam, ate, and drank. The beach is very nice and the water calm. However, the massage from Alma was exceptional and I have had a lot of massages! Highly recommend her-she’s just on the beach near the restaurants after you get off the ship.

You can't beat this view. A very young tourist location, semi-virgin, incredible vegetation (during the wet months) and ocean views and sounds.

Picturesque area.....the small town, the marina, the beach and the surrounding hills. There are places to shop and to eat. There are many people offering excursions if you want to see some of the region beyond Santa Cruz Bay.

We hired a boat one day and had a great boatman, Nestor. He took us around all the bays. We saw a hump backed whale jumping from the sea. Flying fist and a seagull hitching a ride on the back of a manta ray. Fantastic and unforgettable experiences!

Roberto Hernandez took us on a tour of the 7 Bays. The snorkeling was terrific. However the highlight was the nature viewing. Roberto took us to see whales, dolphins, turtles, manta rays and more. He was a fantastic host and we had no problems with communication. He was a fantastic host and I would highly recommend him. Thanks Roberto

Beautiful beach, busy with good food and service. If going and see Alma from Alma spa don't hesitate to get a massage, one of the best massages I have ever had.
