Very nice change of pace. Definite do again. Quiet, restful time had by all.

Group of friends and family - we travel to Mazatlan nearly every year for past 15 years. We thought we had done it all, seen it all. This year, we decided to go to Stone Island again "for the first time". I don't think we had been there in over 15 years. PLEASANT change - definately want to do this... More

As a couple out looking for something authentic, this was a nice change of pace. We got of the cruise ship and had lots to see in the market place. There are people selling all sorts of excursions and experiences. Hence how we came to visit stone island. We took a ride in a makeshift pickup with rails around the... More

Lety's is the best known restaurant because it is one of the oldest. There are others that should be tried. Lety's and others have showers. Nice for after a swim in the gentle sea. Now there is horseback riding and other activities. Getting their is part of the adventure. There are different ferry lines that will take you across the... More

It was easy to find the Playa Sur representative in the Plaza outside the drop-off point from the cruise shuttle. Transportation was supplied by a shuttle truck over to the dock for the boat over to Stone Island and it was easy to verify our tickets and get wrist bands for the day. As advertized this is not a high... More

We booked a tour to go horseback riding. This was really only reason to go, but they also offered other activities as weĺl. So we were picked at are hotel, about an hour later, we arrived at the dock. Where we boarded a large boat, to go over to the island. We signed up to go horseback riding, when we... More

WE all had a great time on the beach, riding horses, and just hanging out. We ate lunch there at the beach, my grandkids ate chicken, we all ate other dishes. That night both teen grandkids fell seriously ill, the vomiting was like nothing I have ever seen in my 60 years. The next morning we took them to a... More

I went on the Stone Island tour about 20 years ago and it was very enjoyable. My wife and I went on this tour last year and I told her how much fun the horse ride was. Well, it's a totally different experience now. When we were there 20 years ago there was a banana plantation along the beach, now... More

This is one of our favorite places. We took a water taxi over for $2 round trip. We walked through the island with the locals and hung out where the locals set up shop to sell items on the beach. We stayed at Las Vernos for the day. Ernesto took REALY good care of us. We played in the water,... More

Not technically an island, but the shortest route to the area is the water taxi. We took the Sabalo-Centro bus (10 pesos ea) and got off at Playa de Sur. The water taxi is 30 pesos ea for a return ticket. This panga takes you to the beach access. We decided to walk into the village, about a kilometre. This... More

We booked our excursion through the Sunwing online website. It stated that the only day available was Saturday so I booked it, but once at the hotel, that information was found to be wrong and it was easily changed to Tuesday. We had only arrived on Friday and that worked out well. We were told it runs daily so no... More
