Great place for some quiet!

Sit at a restaurant and watch the day go by, right on the beach. Very inexpensive from Mazatlan to get there and back . Well worth it!

We love Stone Island. It is our home away from the cold winter in British Columbia, Canada. This is our third year and we are enjoying the sun, sand, wonderful food and the friendly people of the isla. We stay in the Tres Amigos RV park and everyone here treats us like family. You don't have to go off the... More

Mazatlán was one of our cruise ports. However, having been to Mazatlán several times I was simply looking for an easy day with good food and drink and a quiet place to relax and listen to the waves. One of the cruise ship staff said she loved to spend the day on Stone Island and told us to take a... More

A ferry boat ride (30 pesos return) and you land in the old Mexico... dirt roads, beautiful relaxing beach with sun lounges, umbrellas, long cool drinks and a chance to use your little bit of Spanish as you order lunch from the beach restaurants.

A lovely day trip. Easily accessable and so beautiful. Lots of little beachfront eateries and beach vendors. Lovely buzz.

went there twice in the last 10 years, and it was strickly a tourist destination. Not a place where there is a lot to do in my opinion.

Thanks to Eileen and Kris whose reviews gave us lots of info. Loved the beach, not busy at all on a weekday. Ate at Lety's, loved every bite. Waiters were friendly and washrooms very clean. Lots of vendors but they were polite and not too intrusive. Definitely recommend spending a day here!

We visited as part of a cruise tour. We explored the estuaries on one side of the island and the drive through the farms in the center. We had lunch at a beachfront restaurant the beach was nice and the island offers over 14 miles of beach. Scenic and not heavily developed very enjoyable
