We wanted to experience Mazatlan the way the locals do so we headed for the Mercado. It was vibrant and bustling. You can find absolutely everything here. We enjoyed the varied shopping experience and left with our arms full of packages. Most of the vendors were very polite and eager to have you check out their wares. One thing that... More

The Mercado Pino Suarez has been the main public market in Mazatlan for over 100 years. There is an abundance of gifts, meats, fish, produce and plenty of fresh food. A true local experience.

You could spend an entire day here, it has everything from clothing, zapatas, fresh fish, fresh butcherdo chicken and beef. You can also go upstairs and have lunch. Very interesting.

This Mercado is a must see when you are in Mazatlan. It is easy to get there, most buses pass it on one side or the other. It is a mishmash of stalls, from fresh meat and chicken, fish, dairy, lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. There is a herb section, nuts, spices etc.etc., and of course souvenirs, Jewelry and... You can find anything, fresh fruit, Fish, Shrimp, souvenirs, everything. Take your time to do a full view of the market and don’t forget the stores on the out site. On the second floor they have many restaurants where you can see the local dishes, I do not recommend to eat in this restaurants just go and see.

The Mercado is the heart and soul of downtown Mazatlán. From locals to tourists, the mercado has something for everyone! Fresh fruit, fresh meat, fresh vegetables, trinkets, bracelets, hats, food, souvenirs and everything else. If the Mercado doesn't have it, then it can't be found in Mazatlán. Nothing in the mercado has a set price, so everything is negotiable. Be... More

Though I have been to food markets of this scale in different parts of the world I don't remember one without stench, flies and refuse on the ground. This market is remarkably clean and has the freshest meat, seafood and produce I've seen anywhere! With such a variety of brightly coloured fruit and vegetables this a good pace to take... More

This is one of my favorite places to go in Mazatlan this is REAL mexico. Haggle with vendors, go upstairs for some food although we had some fantastic tacos for something like 10 peso! Really good. It's so fun to people watch and see something so different than the states. Huge place. Costs money to use banjo. Not the cleanest... More

totally, frenetic, but bargains galore. This is where the local merchants go to stock up their local Tiendas. Also fresh pigs heads are featured.
