The Plaza Machado was built in the late 1800's and still has it's original architecture and charm. There are about 10 restaurant immediately surrounding the square and many more just steps off the square. It is a great place to just sit and people watch or read the paper with a cup of coffee. It is totally off of the... More

We spent the better part of the day near the cathedral and plaza area. Lunch above the Mercado, A nice walk around the lovely plaza area and on to the Hotel Freeman. Had a nice cold beer at the bar atop the Freeman with a breathtaking view. And then a walk along Olas Altas, a wonderful stretch for a walk... More

Lovely plaza with several restaurants surrounding it with tables outside. Vendors selling art and craft items and music in the evenings. Great place to pass some time.

This is a great place to walk, lots of restaurants. Make a stop at the theater and at Nid Art for some unusual pieces to take home. And walking allows you to see the beautiful painted houses. And not far from Olas Atlas and the insea pool...and the original tourist areas.

Always locals, always festive, many restaurants and tourists as well. Sometimes some very good serendipitous local entertainment, too.

Took and open taxi to Plaza Machado after a private tour of the area. Saturday night and warm. Street vendors were plenty. Restaurants were busy. Had a traditional dinner outside and shopped. A must see destination when in Mazatlan.

The plaza was a beautiful place to visit. We loved the blue shirted volunteers that would help you to find your way around. We ate lunch at the plaza and it was delicious with a great atmosphere. Loved the old buildings and history of the place.

We loved it. The architecture was beyond amazing. The area was very clean & the park was decorated up for Christmas. Would have been amazing to see at night.
