The Malecon is a long concrete boardwalk along the beach/coast. There are many food vendors/food stands and bars and restaurants and goes from Old Mazatlan (Olas Altas) to the Golden Zone, probably 3.5 to 4 miles. I like to take a slow walk along the Olas Altas portion of the Malecon, just a personal preference because it is more low... More

The malecon a great place to walk along the ocean without being in the sand. Many walkers, joggers, roller bladers and bicyclists. And a great place to stroll for sunset.

Take a walk along the Malecon. It is well worth it. Shops all along and beautiful views of ocean. Great little spots to stop for drinks or eat.

Start at Olas Altos. Street venders sell everything from souvenirs to ices. Pass the local fishing boats and many statues, enjoy a coco loco at one of the beach cafes. At sunset the boulevard has a golden glow.

Wow! What a great long walk along the ocean! If it's windy it takes a bit away from the experience, but we were lucky that our weather was perfect,so we joined with other travelers and local families enjoying the Malecon, the sandy beaches, and the local vendors I would recommend a walk in a calm evening,so nice!

We walked it! Weather was perfect not to hot. Pretty boring though, not a lot to stop and look at, no shopping per se. We were able to look at all the large paper mache art installations for Carnival. Very cool! Of course the view of the ocean was awesome. We did end up going back riding in a Pulmonia!

It is a nice walk along the ocean. You see the different monuments that are part of Mazatlan's history. You can experience the fish market where the fishermen sell their catch. You can stop at different boutiques and restaurants. It has areas to rest.
