The bus terminal in Mazatlan is small but clean. I took the ETN bus line from Mazatlan to Durango. The bus was first quality with wide seats and clean bathrooms. The new highway is amazing! I learned that in the past it took 12 hours to get from Mazatlan to Druango but with this new road it only takes 4.5 to 5 hours. A good amount of tunnels were needed to go across instead of around the mountains but the Baluarte Bridge just takes your breath away, standing 400 meters above the Baluarte river, and surrounded by all of the Sierra Madre muntains. …

Van tour to Durango took across the Baluarte Bridge. It was awesome to see although you could not stop and get out. Lots of tunnels on this new and improved road. Long trip (4 hours each way) but and interesting visit to Durango.

Lovely bridge, but it's a bridge. The drive there is nice but a long way to go to see a bridge. We only got to stop for about a minute just to take a picture.

Take a day tour to Durango, well worth the money. This is a true architectural feat you don’t want to miss. There are over 60 tunnels through the mountains and the bridge is breathtaking. This bridge can also be viewed by air if flying to Dallas. Look for the bridge and tunnels a few minutes before landing or a few after leaving Mazatlán airport. …
