- Arianna K1 contributionBreath taking, AMAZING view of Puerto VallartaThis is a great thing to do in Puerto Vallarta. The views are amazing, you can see the entire bay! It’s a lot of steep climbing and stairs but worth the views. There’s a breeze at the top to cool you off after your work out climbing all the stairs. Make sure to bring water and take your time. Free to do, there’s also bathrooms up there for $7 pesos (give to the store on top of the hill)Visited March 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 23 March 2023
- JenniferWilliams2016Ankeny, Iowa31 contributionsGreat FREE experience! We did this one morning to see the sunrise (unfortunately it was cloudy). Great views of the the ocean as well as the mountains. Bring along water and wear some good shoes. Lots of elevation climb, but worth it. There was a yoga class going on that morning too which looked like fun.Visited July 2023Written 29 July 2023

- Ed V72 contributionsBreathtaking views. You can do it too.The hike is relatively short in kilometers or miles but quite a challenge going up a steep incline and stairs. But well worth it when you reach the top. At age 66, I made it. And so did my wife. Go for it. The views are breathtaking. Don't be like us and ignore reviews - afternoon heat in October, November is brutal. Go early morning. !Visited October 2023Travelled soloWritten 20 November 2023
- Trekkie_NerdBritish Columbia, Canada142 contributionsStairway (almost) to HeavenOne of the hardest walks I've ever done and it was so worth it when I reached the top. The powerful humidity and heat really slowed down my 60+ year old body. Make sure to bring water and some electrolyte tablets for the very steep stairs and roads. It's also a great way to see the Puerto Vallarta hills with the brightly painted terraced housing with its' neighbourhood cats, dogs and chickens.Visited November 2023Travelled soloWritten 7 December 2023
- Comfortable Q3 contributionsFree Hike / HIIT Workout? in PVIt's a short hike, but it's a hike! Straight uphill!! We had a good time and went in the morning to avoid the heat of the day, but if you haven't been keeping up on your cardio, it will be a struggle. Easiest directions I found online said to start at Abasolo St and just go up ( and you will be walking straight up a hill, then up about 300 stairs). Best views of the city and it counted as exercise so of course you can have some tacos when you're done :)Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 20 December 2023
- jimboh7432 contributions360 degree view of everythingRecommend doing this hike in the morning before it’s too hot. It’s not a long distance but it’s a steep road that leads you to hundreds of stairs that take you to the top. Once up there you’ll be rewarded with the best view you will find overlooking pretty much all of PV.Visited January 2024Travelled soloWritten 18 January 2024
- DonDT4 contributionsVery doable for lovely views! An excellent active walk up steep sidewalks and stairs with railings to wonderful views. I took the direct route on Calle Abisolo, turned left at the T intersection, and enjoyed it despite the construction in the area. Recommended as a healthy physical activity best in the cooler morning times.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 30 January 2024
- Raja HNew York City, New York221 contributionsSteep, but very worth itAim to get here a half hour before sunrise for the best lighting. If you're not sure about your fitness level, give yourself more time. It is extremely steep. You'll feel it especially going down. For a lot of it you're going through residential areas that don't really give you any clue as to where you should be headed. I just followed Google Maps walking directions. At the top there's a cafe if you desperately need water. I'd recommend packing your own. I'm in my 30s and very fit and I think it took me 20-30 min at a steady walk from the big church (Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe). I was sweating pretty hard but cooled off easily with the breeze high up. You may witness a proposal like I did!Visited January 2024Travelled soloWritten 7 February 2024
- Kathy BSeattle, Washington34 contributionsOutstanding ViewpointMost people go during the day, but we went at night and it was wonderful! We had a taxi drop us off on Abasolo st, just a little ways from the staircase. The stairs are steep. It took us about fifteen minutes to get up them because we had to take a few breaks. Once up top near the cross it was beautiful. There is a little Cafe at top. There are also some dogs running around that I wanted to pet but decided against. Very enjoyable excursion.Visited February 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 21 February 2024

Good Workout, Wonderful Views, As previously mentioned, hike is relatively short, however very steep, the views are worth it. I suggest early morning for cooler temps.

Definitely worth the steep Hike! The views are breathtaking
We went after a hurricane so it looks worse but it looks like they’re doing some developments and construction on it to make it easier accessible. There are several routes to get there and the route we took was more foresty but if you google enough you’ll find reviews telling you the best route. (I found out later)
Bring snacks and drinks to enjoy up there especially if you’re going during sunset or sunrise.
They now have a cute little cafe right by the cross and a bathroom. They charge ablut 10 pesos for the bathroom and give you a piece of toilet paper. Make sure to bring your own wipes
Definitely an instagram worthy place @iHeartLyra

The nearest point accessible by taxi is 220 steps from the top. There are no bathrooms nearby. Snacks and drinks are sold at the final 220 step access point. You can take your time making this final ascent so it is possible for anyone with sufficient energy to ascend this many stairs.
