I will never go back to this club - it is absolutely a scam! We went for my sister’s bachelorette party and I had purchased 2 VIP tables for our large party of 19 people (the website said up to 10 people per table). When we get there, we are led up to a tiny section with two 3 ft tiny plastic grey tables and told that we have to fit 19 women into a space that should fit 5 people. It would have been physically impossible for our group to have fit in that space, and the staff just continued to argue back that that is the space I get for paying $2200 USD for two tables (advertised as the VIP tier online). You can tell that they do this often and get over on people by their lackluster response to my simple question of how they could possibly think a group of 19 people could fit in the small allotted space. In addition, their website was extremely misleading, most of the tequila options we saw were bottom shelf (we saw a lot of Jose Cuervo), most of the staff had an attitude and the fan that was above our section didn’t work on a very hot night. We ended up making the most of it but even the staff at our Airbnb let us know upon our return that Mandala is a huge scam. We ended up making the most of our time but I could not leave without documenting the troubles we experienced and hopefully preventing another group from making the same mistake that we did. Bad business is bad business.

We just visited this club last night, off the back of our hotel doing a paid trip there as a set group (700 pesos per person, transport there and open bar)

Originally we were really excited to head out to the centre and see the nightlife. The club itself is nice - little small for a dance floor but nothing too bad, the staff were friendly and helped us with getting drinks (as we had a free bar from 10pm-2am).

Within the next hour (11pm) the waiter came up to myself and began to tell me I need to tip him or I should tip him now for his service (an hour into the night, barely even sat down) I said I will later as we are planning to stay till late. Time goes by and he’s not only asked and demanded from myself, he’s asked my brother, my girlfriend (when she’s by herself) and my brothers girlfriend numerous times. Then proceeded to get the other female waitress to ask the girls.

It comes to the end of our free bar and we’re dancing and I see the waiter and waitress with two security guards standing over my brother and his girlfriend again (around 1:50am) - they’re telling us they take cards for tips and no coins just high value notes?? I go over and he’s demanding I tip him and i told him that it’s not how it works.
We weren’t planning to leave at that point as we enjoyed our night and met people there. But off that interaction alone and the whole process throughout the night we ended up really disliking it and told them we’re just going to leave and won’t have the last drinks we had from our free bar.

F.Y.I all of us are very much up for tipping and were going to at the end of our night as we were enjoying it. However when you’re continuously hounded by waiters telling you that you HAVE to pay them extra, you lose that sense of generosity very quickly.
Especially when they can’t remember your orders or you have to ask multiple times till it comes and then on top of that have them spill a table of drinks on your feet.

This is a tourist trap and they will try to scam you. They tried to charge us for a USD150 bottle of tequila that we did not order. When we said we did not want nor order the bottle and tried to leave, the security blocked us and forced us to pay for the bottle.

Mandala night club was easy to get in with ID, they had security we felt very safe, it was really clean and pretty and awesome music. It was indoor-outdoor which was nice. At 10 pm it was pretty empty but by 12:30 pm it was pretty packed. The drinks were expensive.

Came with a few friends, ended up paying $450 for two bottles that were kinda forced upon us. Even if we we’re okay woth paying that much, it’s not worth it. Club is below average. If you really want to check it out, pay the 20 pesos for cover and stay upstairs where the locals are.

Attention all tourists - avoid this place at all costs, they will steal your money!!! Just for reference they ended up doubling the price on bottle of tequila that we bought and charged us 6x the price for a bottle of champagne that we bought (I specifically asked for the cheapest bottle too). Security is creepy and I heard it is controlled by a certain "secret organization"... I'll let your imagination piece that together. Go somewhere else where you won't get scammed.

Last night my friends and I (1 American citizen and one Mexican citizen) went to the club Mandala in Puerto Vallarta and spent 8000 MXP while having a great time and making friends. We were very friendly and met a lot of cool people and stayed very coherent as you should when traveling through a foreign country. Through out the night our waiter on our first floor table kept telling us we had to give him 500 MXP cash to keep our table even tho we already spent 8000 and the other tables at our level weren't all even taken. As the night continued he kept asking for more and more cash and was being very rude and made us feel uncomfortable (all while the rest of the customers at the club were hanging out with us being very nice) Right after this we decided to leave as we started to feel uncomfortable and immediately when walking out of the club minding our own business we got grabbed by cops and nicely asked to follow them so we obliged having no idea what would come next. Soon as we turned the corner we were in a dark alley where they handcuffed us and started beating us up and punching us in the face. They beat us up for hours and threatened us if we didnt give them a large sum of money they would take us to jail all while not giving us a reason for being arrested and treated badly ( we didn't do anything and my friend is Mexican so he was speaking Spanish pleading with them. Finally after 2 hours they took us to an ATM where we took out $1,000 USD (18,800 MXP) and let us go when we did NOTHING. We are SURE how were targeted was by the waiter telling the corrupt police what we looked like and more importantly had money. We were grabbed IMMEDIATELY upon exiting all while being coherent. Absolutely terrible and id fire this guy immediately as I assume this isn't the first time it's happened to someone and completely ruin their trip. These incidents are the reason why such a great country getsa bad rep. I WOULD NEVER GO BACK to this club, corrupt shady service. Try La Santa, friendly, fair, SAFE

We went with two couples and we all show our ID's after paying with our credit cards, they ask us to take our ID's to make copies of them and they return with the other couples ID's (they are from Mexico) and the kept/stole our American one.
Be aware!!! I they ask you to take a copy go with them, or they will stole it to sell it or do dirty business. Manager Pedro Rodriguez was rude and did not respond to our demand and said he did not make a copy and later after we called the police (which do not help at all) he came back with a copy of it. Totally abusive and ridiculous
be careful with your foreign documents with in this club since they can use it for car rental or other terrible things
Total Disappointment!!!

Repost from a friend.

PLEASE DO NOT CONTRIBUTE YOUR MONEY TO THIS BUSINESS. THEY DISCRIMINATE AGAINST GAY PEOPLE. This is the worst place I have ever visited. My girlfriend and I were walking down the malecon and they asked us to come in since the place was dead. We did and they placed us in an area near the corner toward the front. We bought a couple of overpriced drinks and the waitress was super kind and attentive. All the while I kissed my partner a few times and the waitress never said anything. We then moved to the dance floor and I happened to kiss her again and much to my surprise, they asked us to leave as it was against their policy. I asked for a refund for my overpriced drinks and they refused, therefore I refused to leave until they refunded my money. My partner then asked to speak to a manager and then they used excessive force on her and I went to help by pushing away the person who had held her wrists. They then shoved me out and put me in a chokehold in the outside of the club in front of many people. My girlfriend recorded the entire altercation then they took the phone away from her and deleted the recording from the phone. Never in my life have I ever experienced discrimination at this level. I hope you go out of business. But more so, I hope you realize the trauma you have caused me.

The place seemed nice and full of tourists. We had 2 rounds of drinks and called it a night. My husband gave the waiter his visa and was asked for his drivers license.
The waiter disappeared and returned with the credit card and a perfectly sized "copy" of his drivers license hidden underneath. The waiter seemed to laugh it off and returned minutes later with the "real" drivers license and never mentioned why he had made a copy.
Once I got back to the hotel I cancelled the credit card immediately. I would have to assume the club is selling american ids and buying products online, since they now had my billing address and an active credit card.
This was something I would not expect from a city who's number one industry is tourism. If you are lured in by the energy and decor, pay cash and keep your valuables close.
