Great place to shop and if you can bargain correctly, you can do real well. We also ate upstairs at one of the small restaurants. It was clean and real cheap. Homemade real mexican food. Do not be afraid by sight, just do it. We...More

Took a local bus (it only cost 7 pesos= 40 cents) to the malecon and decided to take stroll to the mercado. It's within walking distance (although it was very humid and uncomfortable) of the malecon. Many little shops sell very similar items but you...More

Thus market has been around for 30 years and features everything you need for a fun outing. There are craft stalls, jewelry, clothing, toys, linens as well as food stalls. There are 2 levels and 159 stores. The murals make it an attractive shopping area.

Classic market that pretty much has anything you'd want to be purchasing either for your expat home in PV, for home in your own home country, or for souvenirs for whomever you want. If you like bartering, then you've entered paradise. All vendors will barter!...More

Anything you could want as far as food was concerned was found here. We bought fresh fruit, vegetables, tortillas and rice. It was cool to see the tortilla machine that is here. They are able to make multiple tortillas at a time.

I think David is confusing this with the emiliano Zapata market. The municipal market is on the river just one block from the Malecon.
