Ecotours Mexico is a small, family owned and operated Eco- Travel and Adventure Tour company that started operating in 1991, which makes them pioneers among the eco- tour operators in the country, we are also founding members of the Mexican Association of Adventure Travel and Eco-tourism (AMTAVE).We have led tours for international associations such as the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the American Museum of Natural History in N.Y; the Saint Louis Zoo, and the National Wildlife Federation. At Ecotours de Mexico, we offer a different option for people who are interested in having a new and unique experience, who want to learn about the places they visit and are concerned about nature and conservationIn order to provide this, we have a great team of guides, mainly expert biologists and naturalists with a huge passion for nature. Our goal is to offer personal and professional attention on every one of our Eco- tours. Our tours are run based on the premise that you can't love that which you don't know, and we truly hope that after traveling with us you'll definitely share in our knowledge and our love for nature.Ecotours & ConservationBeing an authentic eco- tourism company, we have our own ongoing Humpback Whale research project since 1996. We are founder members of Ecologia y Conservacion de Ballenas (Ecology & Conservation of Whales) a NGO dedicated to research, conservation and protection of our oceans with main focus on Humbpack Whales. We have collaborate on the photo-identification project on the Humpback Whales and we are part of the Banderas Bay Humpback Whale Disentanglement Network. Ecotours is also involved in the Sea Turtle conservation program. We have been working as volunteers at different turtle camps in Michoacan and Oaxaca since 1990, and since 1998, we have been making donations and funding scholarships for the volunteers working at the main Turtle Camp in Banderas Bay. In 2010 we started actively supporting the conservation project of military macaws in the Sierra MadreWe believe education to be of outmost importance, and our staff frequently takes part in seminars at schools and universities in the area. We have also been invited to speak at several local, national and international tourism and eco- tourism conventions.

Booked the hike and snorkeling excursion. Our guides, Christina & Michael were superb, their knowledge of the local flora & fauna made every moment of the walk interesting. The hike itself began in a small fishing village and wound past residents' houses before turning into a real trail. The hike was too strenuous for several members of our party so... More

Whale watching was nothing short of extraordinary with our guide Melissa and our captain Raoul. We were only 3 passengers and were fortunate enough to have an incredible encounters with several humpbacks and a variety of behaviors (including the breaching of a mother and baby) just before they left Banderas Bay. I don't think we would have even seen the... More

We were fortunate enough to have a private tour since we were the only ones who had booked for our time slot. I was surprised, I thought they would have cancelled on us since we were the only ones but we had a wonderful morning with our guide, Cristina! She was friendly and knowledgeable about the area and species of... More

My friend and I participated in the “Birds of Tropical Paradise and Botanical Garden” tour in late March with Ecotours de México. Our guide was Fernando Romo. I only have good things to say about this tour. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the local birds and could quickly identify by sight and by sound the various birds, common and... More

We purchased the secret beach snorkeling tour for $99/person. Lucky for us, we actually got the opportunity to visit the secret beach! The tour guide was great, she was knowledgeable about the wildlife and surrounding area and she was able to answer any questions that we had. The boat was the perfect size, and the amount of time we got... More

Five feathers up! Fernando was our enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide. We saw over 70 species of birds including motmot, varied bunting, pygmy owl, squirrel cuckoo, roseate spoonbill, trogan, magpie jay, blue mockingbird, and many hummingbirds. Ranch Primavera is a lovely preserve area in the mountains. Fernando provided snacks and drinks. We ate an excellent lunch in a small cantina in... More

Swimming with dolphins has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl, but with all the negative information coming out about enclosed marine life parks such as SeaWorld, I wanted to make sure that the tour I chose would not be harming the creatures I love so much. That's why I'm so glad I went with Ecotours.... More

With our wonderful guide Cristina, we were able to have the amazing experience of snorkeling with dolphins. Cristina was a knowledgeable guide. The boats are small so you get personal attention. Highly recommend.
