This property was literally right on the beach. The view from the ground floor patio was the best for sunrises and whale watching and there were plenty of them. The surf school set up their tent right out front and was neat to watch all the novice and skilled surfers. Not only was it close to the beach but was also well situated to walking to town and the Saturday markets. Norma’s tacos and Theresa’s tacos were close by and were delicious. The lobster in paradise and Minas restaurants were both very good.
Casa de Pintar was just down the street and had great food. Taking the bus to La Cruz was easy and only 20 pesos. Our condo was very spacious with 2 large bedrooms and each had there own washroom and shower. Having laundry was a bonus . Walking to buy groceries was easy once you became familiar with the surroundings. Looking forward to going back

This is our second year back to Punta de mita. Each time we stayed a month in a condo on the beach right beside Stinky’s surf. This beach seems to change with the seasons. Last year it was a beautiful sandy beach and this year in February it was very rocky, mostly due to hurricane action earlier in the year. Fortunately we had a pool. We made the best of the beach as it was great for looking for beach glass and puka shells. Whale watching was awesome daily. Lots of surfers this year.
We are now familiar with shopping where the locals shop so was easy to find all the foods we needed to have great meals. There is a butcher in the little town and has plenty of fresh meats a poultry. Saturday has a great market for fresh fruit and vegetables
In this little town you are living with the locals and we loved it . It helped that we brushed up on our Spanish. Everyone is friendly and we always feel safe even at night. Most streets are cobble stones and you need to be aware of this while walking as there can be holes and bumps. Any given day there are pop food stands and markets. On the modern side there is a malecon walk if you will with nice restaurants and markets where you will find more English spoken. There is a market called Olin market or gringo store where you will find most of your familiar products from home.
This time we took and old phone and bought a SIM card and time at the OXO store which allowed us communication between couples and maps etc.
took the bus to la Cruz market on Sundays and into Bucerias several times and it runs very well. A little rustic but very inexpensive. 24 pesos to la Cruz ….. 30 pesos to Bucerias
Looking forward to going back next year

We visited this exquisite resort for a few days to attend a seminar at the invitation of friends. It was a most wonderful place to be. The rooms are large and very accommodating, the grounds are pleasant, relaxing and beautiful. The ocean is a delight to listen to and walk besides. We were far too busy to enjoy the amenities but they look worth while to enjoy and I so hope we can return and spend some down time at this beautiful place. The food in all the restaurants was wonderful. The staff very friendly and most accommodating. Before we arrived we had watched some you tube reviews of this resort and I must say they describe this place perfectly! We hope to return to enjoy and rest again.

NORMALLY sellers in most stores are honest,I purchased a brand of cookies I love, just 6 rolls called ,Gama classic vanilla, the cost was .30 Pasco, I. Stil learning Pasco, so I asked in dollars, guys say $4.00, 30 pacos turns out to be $1.55- the guy at counter isn't honest at all.
Going foward I will Calculate prior to pay to check before buying, this is what I get for not wanting to stand In line at oxxo station, they convert correctly all the time.
So he gained a couple bucks to convert shame on him, we are resident here 8 weeks out of the year, not sure how much longer to remain,
this use to be a charming little town,it's turning into Hustle all the way around.
My recommendation is do your converting right at counter,we are approaching high season.
God for bid we repeate 2007 & 2008, we're Americans will not spend money Mexico Rivera.
Dishonest!!!$$$$$,$

We took a taxi up here, thinking we might spend a few hours but only spent about an hour. Not much here except some rather expensive beach shops selling pool toys, etc. The beach was fine, but the water looked rough. We traveled on.

I would avoid Punta De Mita in the future. The beach is very nice for a day trip but the town is terrible. It has one street along the beach full of over expensive restaurants and that's it. Rests of the town is horrible, dodgy and lacking in spirit, palces to eat, get your fresh groceries ect. The few you can get are overpriced compared to Lo De Marcos or San Francisco. There is one spot where the super market is close to high way where it is a decent to get your daily basics. Unless you are staying in the miloners resorts right at the beach it is to be avoided.

We absolutely love punta mita. We stay inside the gates in a condo typically. We love the beach clubs, going everywhere in a golf cart, restaurants, golf and tennis. But after going three times and getting diareah all three times I think it may be our last time going. I hate that such a magical place has to be so awful for our health. We even took probiotics the whole time we were there. So this is just a warning for anyone planning to visit.

We have stayed at the St. Regis in Punta De Mita several times and just loved this little area. The beach area is stunning and especially beautiful. The little town has a few restaurants and our favorite is the Blue Shrimp. It is about a 45 minute car ride to get there from the airport.

Most of the area of Punta De Mita is private resort (The Four Seasons) and must be invited by a guest, but if you can get in there... its REALLY nice. The little town and beach is great as well - makes for a great day trip out there. We had a tough time getting an Uber back though.. (actually visited LAST year, just forgot to review it).

Are there any bars that stay open later in Punta de Mita or have live music? We are coming for a birthday weekend and the last time we were there things closed so early.

Can you take a taxi there just to experience the beach and lunch ? Do you have to stay at one of the ressorts there to access the beautiful part of the beach? Are restaurants along the beach open to the public?
Written 9 October 2018
You definitely can take a taxi to Punta Minta or you can take a bus from Puerto Vallarta. There are lots of restaurants on the beach open to the public. Have fun. I was just there last week.

Is the 'beautiful beach' right at your resort or do we have to leave your property to experience it?

Hi Im traveling to playa mita un april i wonder if is safe rent a car in The airport And drive From there to punta mita Im a little afraid thanks for The aswer

We rented a car while there and had no problems. Be advised that renting a car means ACCEPTING THE RENTING AGENCY'S INSURANCE. As you see renting a car is cheap but adding the insurance at often as much as $50 a day adds up. YOU cannot decline coverage or the rental agency will not rent to you. Alternate idea... At airport exit front door of terminal and turn left. Keep heading left and cross the walkway over the highway o the bus stop. Every 20-30 minutes you will see a bus that will say Punta de Mita on the windshield (passenger side). 2 bucks gets you to Punta.
