Fantastic spot to idle away the day! See Franco at the far end of the beach. He will make your stay even more enjoyable than it might otherwise be. Need water shoes or something on your feet here as the coral bottom is rocky quite far out. Very protected - seldom any big waves. Kids would be happier on the... More

Great place to eat, drink, and snorkel. Rode a catamaran from another beach where we are staying. Good time!

I've visited this beach over a period of more than 40 years, and it's always wonderful to hang out for the day on the white, white sand, snorkel around the ancient man-made reef, and get a different view of Zihuatanejo town and bay. It's notable that the beach is only accessible via water taxi or by scaling over a rough... More

A visit to Zihua is never complete until you visit Playa las Gatas. Crystal clear blue water and white sand beach. On the west coast this is a rarity but Playa las Gatas delivers. The water taxi ride over is wonderful and reasonably priced. The beach bars and restaurants have cheap beer and decent food for a good price.

But don't worry, boats regularly run guests to and from the beach daily starting at 8AM for only about $3 USD (round trip). The beach offers several restaurants with beachside service but no shops or other amenities.

This beach visually mirrors Gillian's Island to perfection! It is such a beautiful place to see. You can either take a sketchy hike down the back side of a large hill to get there, or take a boat taxi like 99% of people do. After absorbing the breathtakingly perfect surroundings, the confusion sets in as you try to decide which... More

So for 50 pesos-about $2.50 you take a water taxi to the beach--some annoyance with kids that want to get tips for helping you on the dock. You get there and its restaurant after restaurant after bar-some easy to use and some will not let you use unless you promise to have lunch there. We stopped at one with a couple... More

The beach offers snorkeling and only average swimming as the bottom has rocks under the water. The water is clear and nice. Watch the prices being charged for food and drink. It was quite expensive as they have you in a more remote location.
