Very nice gardens, but what was a surprise is that we stumbled upon the opening of a photo exhibit of Armando Salas Portugal. His photos were taken in the late 1940s and were black and whites of the Mexican Indian ruins and contemporary idiginous Mexicans in the 1940s.

The Jardin Borda has a fascinating history. It would be nicer if the garden areas and lake were kept up better. Still, if you are looking for a break from the noise and traffic of downtown Cuernavaca, this is a peaceful natural area. In addition, there are interesting exhibits on special occasions. Their Day of the Dead exhibits in particular... More

Now lovely restored gardens, the grounds lead one to imagine the days when mule teams, laden with wagons of silver, securely sat behind the walls of this compound, a wonderful break from the crowed sidewalks, nofrom tise, and traffic-laden streets just steps away.

This old estate has extensive gardens with fountains and a pond they call a lake. A gallery features local artists from time to time. At the moment the gardens are being spruced up. Entrance is 30$ and 15$ for seniors (tercera edad).

You know how everyone said "Brokeback Mountain" was the best movie ever, and then when you saw it you expected it to knock your socks off, and it was good but not great? That's what the Jardin Borda was. If no one had told me anything about it, I'd have loved it, but since so many raved about it, I... More

I visited this place twice once in 2013 and again in 2016. The garden is a nice place to get out of the sun and relax in the middle of the busy city. When I was there last they were renovating the gardens so a large area was closed off and all the plants were gone. Still a nice place... More

A nice place to visit and have a quite time in the city. Gardens are being rebuilt. Worth the cost of entrance.

Upon reading about these gardens and the accompanying mansion, I was really enthusiastic. I believe it was Lonely Planet that compared it to Versailles. so imagine my disappointment when the police officer told me the garden would be closed for months for renovation. The good news is that much of the mansion is available for tour, as it serves as... More

Fortunately for me... the gardens opened for two days to celebrate Dia De Los Muertos. There were wonderful native crafts and food.... as well as folk dancing. Be aware that the gardens are under construction and closed most of the time. You can get a sense of the beauty that was and will be. Right now they are unavailable to... More
