I tried hard to stay and enjoy the food and music. But the drunken locals were a bit too much. I felt unsafe and the whole area felt dirty. This is more of a skid row than a tourist attraction.

We had a wonderful time in Guadalajara Mexico. We explored many places in downtown and of course the Mariachi Plaza! I really recommend to visit as many locations as you can in Jalisco. I will be Back soon!

If you like Mariachi music this is it. A great place to review different groups if you're thinking of hiring for a party, this is the place to go!

I've always found this area a little spooky at night and there are better ways to find live music in Guadalajara. The restaurant Santa Coyote has good mariachis. There's a bar on Avenida Vallarta (one of the principal streets of western Guadalajara at the corner...More

I would not go to see mariachis down at the Plaza de los Mariachis anymore. I don't think that the area is very tourist oriented anymore - if you want to see and hear mariachis - go to the Parian in Tlaquepaque or to one...More
