Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Posing on the Guadalajara sign I had the cathedral as the backdrop for the photo. There's a fountain and the statue of Hidalgo breaking the chains - he is the Father of this nation. This plaza is a celebration of independence. The plazas all lead from one to another making it such a good walk of the historic city center.

My friend and I hired a local, English speaking, guide to walk us around the Centro Historico area. Knowing the history of Guadalajara made this plaza much more interesting than just walking through it. I also enjoyed sitting in a cafe drinking coffee and people watch. I've been to Guadalajara several times and I always enjoy seeing what events, activities and programs they have going on in the plaza.

Having visited the Delores Hidalgo, the Cradle of Mexican Independence we decided to visit Plaza de la Liberacion and discovered that it is an architectural delight in the buzzing heart of Guadalajara.
A great place to admire the architecture, enjoy the entertainment or just sit on a bench in the shade and watch life in a real Mexican city that is still mostly undiscovered by overseas tourists.

One of the first plazas I ever saw in Guadalajara, some 30 years ago, it has changed little in appearance. I know that new trees have been planted to replace the large older ones that were getting just too big for this plaza-and new lighting that shines up from the sidewalks onto the historical buildings surrounding it have been added. But the two large fountains at each end still remain the same. Benches surround the entire plaza that faces the teatro delgeado and the cathedral on the other side. It is still fun just to sit and watch many people passing by or the many free concerts held there at any given day. This is a very family oriented plaza, so watch out for the little ones!

Colonial centre of Guadalajara. This place is most welcoming to tourists with buildings, and opportunities for photos, or you can take a calandia (horse drawn carriage tour)

Where all things happen in GDL, a nice stroll during the day, and see the vendors, explore the Cathedral or enjoy a coffee or ice cream while discovering the historical downtown district.

wow, got dropped off via uber after we rose to street level from underground tunnel. Wow. what a plaza and what a church. so much to see right around the cathedral, from the theater to the governors mansion, to the shops and restaurants and don't forget to get some food at la chata. so fun.

Plaza de la Liberacion or Freedom plaza is a totally centric location for the many amenities of Guadalajara city. You can take a ride in a horse drawn Calandria or go into the cathedral. vast shopping and great foods. It is tourist friendly and safe.

Hi I would like to know what day of the week the sculptors are in the plaza de la liberacion. Last year I went and there were artists selling their stone artwork while they were working on new ones in the plaza. What day of the week does this happen?
