We went there on Saturday night. Bought row 3 tickets at the list price at the taquilla about an hour before the show start time (7:30) . If you're on Raw 1~2, you may lose your cerveza when the bodies flown over to ou. Many families with great interaction between wrestlers and audience. Pleae note that you cannot bring in your camera, but you can take pics with your phone.

We were recommended two choices for Mexican wrestling - the larger Arena Mexico, which is where I think the organised tours go, and Arena Coliseo, which the concierge in our hotel said was in a less salubrious area, but was a "more local" experience. Having read some dodgy reviews about 5 minute taxi rides with a tequila shot and a wrestling mask, we decided to be adventurous (or not) and skip organised tours. I haven't been to Arena Mexico, so can't compare directly, but Coliseo is a small-ish, two tiered arena (about 10 rows of seats on each level). We paid about £9 on the door for front row seats. Having never been to anything like this before, I struggle to describe what it's like - I went expecting it to be cheesy, and feel a little uncomfortable, possibly even bored, but wanting to experience something I'd been recommended. What happened was that I cried with laughter, I screamed at women to smack each other in the face, I roared the name of anyone with their name on their pants, and I booed the bad guys and the good guys. I'd like to point out that I don't generally condone women smacking each other in the face, but my Spanish is sadly limited to specifying that an object is not my suitcase, or that I should be left in the corner, so I didn't have so much choice. It doesn't matter, you just shout at them - this place is all about being in the moment, letting go, and playing the game. Some of the moves did look very wooden, but there were some spectacular throws and jumps as well, and it all added to the atmosphere, and when they appeared to accidentally break one of the spectator seats, I lost it completely.
It seems like the show here is shorter than the one at Arena Mexico, it was about an hour and a half. I feel like I might be flagging after 3 hours, so it was great to go home buzzing, and still laughing about it, having given it my all for that time.

Do not miss this. This is raw, funky, wild, wacky, athletic and very local. The wrestling is a bit over the top, campy and staged but wildly entertaining. The total time for the matches is about 2-2 1/2 hours. There are one on one matches, tag team matches of two’s and three’s, males and females. The screaming audience is part of the overall experience. Uber easily drops you at the front door and call for another when you want to leave. The audience was very friendly and animated and there are plenty of police outside as you enter and leave the stadium. My suggestion sit in rows 3-7, rows 1 and 2 you will be part of the match. Sit back and enjoy, you will not believe the experience. Photos are allowed with cell phones, no cameras allowed and no outside drinks allowed, that means no water too. You can buy what you need without ever leaving your seat.

I've been wanting to see lucha libre in all my trips to Mexico. Finally i did it this time. Thru Viator. Thanks. It was soo good. Not just the athletes were good. Spectators were an important part of the show. Seems there are two types of wrestlers: Tecnicos y Rudos. All seem
Rudos (roughs) to me. The public scream, drink beer, the bartenders pour them by twos. It's a family activity. You hear a couple of "PUTOS" but maybe they don't consider it a bad word. Lots of kids.

We decided to go to a wrestling event while visiting Mexico City. We walked to the venue and purchased tickets at the door. The cost for our 6th row seat was 150 pesos each- $7.50 usd. The building was built in 1943 and was very dated. We ordered a couple beers $4.00 us each. Wrestling started and it was good fun. About two hours of entertainment.
We returned to hotel by cab as concierge said that area was not that great at night.
I recommend the experience.

This is an incredibly theatrical and entertaining wrestling show for the whole family. The wrestling is traditionally Mexican and authentic with the vibrant masks and outfits etc. I would recommend this to anyone.

My friend and I had a great time laughing and cheering with everyone. A little difficult to understand if you don't speak Spanish or have never been to a lucha libre show. Beers were 80 pesos, but they were 24oz. Don't bring your expensive camera to the show. They will make you check it and I have heard stories of some growing legs.

Me and my daughter had a lot of fun at this arena. The venue is located in a not so nice area of town, and the venue is not as clean as the Arena Coliseo, but still we had a great experience.

Arena Coliseo is the less popular venue for lucha libre but seats on the floor level filled up quickly and the atmosphere was still lively. I sat in the third row despite showing up twenty minutes before the show. The first few matches were bit sophomoric and lacked action but the action picked up with the later matches. Lot of the actions occur out of the ring by the front rows and the aisles as some wrestlers interact with the audience which was a blast. The last couple of matches had talented wrestlers which was comparable to some of the better known wrestling promotions. The beer and snacks are bit expensive but it wasn’t a big deal as tickets are pretty cheap. Having been a huge pro wrestling fan when I was younger, this was a great evening.

We went to see a lucha libre performance/fight and found it to be overstimulating, amazing, shocking, and just such a unique experience that you just can't replicate or explain without being there yourself. The sounds, the colors, the people. DO IT.
