On Saturdays the square is taken over by artists displaying their work. Despite some interesting highlights I have rarely seen a larger collection of badly painted horses and production line tourist crap. I'm certain at some point, this was a great find but that day has gone and unless you are very keen to purchase a piece here, I wouldn't... More

This is a great place to visit on Saturday - Art set up in the plaza and street vendors all around mostly selling arts and crafts. Definitely worth a few hours.

Plaza de San Jacinto is a colonial area in San Angel, in the Southern part of Mexico City. It's very beatif7on any day, but it is especially so on a Saturday when the Bazaar Sabado takes place.

We had been looking for an area like this since we first arrived in Mexico City. Between the galleries and shops in the area, we finally found the high quality arts & crafts that we search out during our visits to Mexico. Our only regret is not having scheduled a Saturday there so we could go to the Bazar Sabado!

This was recommended to us by a local; mostly for shopping, but also as a great neighborhood with lots of restaurants. We opted to take the metro bus here from the Zona Rosa on a Saturday morning. It took about an hour, including a minute walk on the other end to get here. The plaza is beautiful, with artisan goods... More

One of the loveliest spots in Mexico City. You can eat, shop, admire art and spend your day like a local on a high or low budget. The best day is satuday when there is a special saturday only bazaar that is not to be missed.

We trekked out to San Angel and had a great time walking through the stalls of local artisans. So much great artwork, craftwork and energy - definitely deserves to be on an itinerary when visiting DF

The best place eat delicious, shop local art or souvenir. By your own, on a date, family or friends. You can spend hours. Other must in México City.

Staying in San Angel

Neighbourhood Profile
San Angel
San Ángel is known for its artistic vibe and elegant details displayed throughout its streets, antique residences and haciendas where famous actors like Consuelo Velázquez, Capulina and other prominent families used to live and that have now been turned into beautiful galleries, cafés and restaurants. An array of cultural and artistic activities are organized in the neighborhood, but it is on Saturdays when the San Jacinto Plaza and surroundings really shine as artists gather to exhibit a variety of arts and crafts, from paintings to clothing.
