It's a very charming little spot outside of the more hectic parts of the city. There wasn't much happening when I was there, but still nice to roam around.

Shopped and ate Lunch at the market. Beautifully intimate experience trying the local cuisine. Even with limited Spanish, the local vendors were so patient and kind.

We spent a couple of hours exploring the area. There were some great street markets to look around and it was a much more relaxed atmosphere than the centre of Mexico City. We only spent a short time here, but I would have loved to have come back at night to go in the local bars and really soak up... More

Downtown Coyoacan is very beautiful, there is a few museums, marketplace, park full of artist where you can buy a paint or a sculpture, take the time and go there.

Our Uber recommended this place to us, she dropped us off in the evening, and it was booming with activity, families walking around happily. There's a big artisan market, and after shopping for Mexican souvenirs, we walked a couple of feet to great outdoor restaurants, where we had awesome mariscos and enjoyed tropical music by a trio who sang at... This charming neighborhood was walkable and interesting. The Frida house had long lines so we did not go in. However, the central park are was pretty, with many things to see and do.

Staying in Coyoacan

Neighbourhood Profile
Coyoacan
Once you step into Coyoacán (“Land of the Coyotes”) you'll find picturesque parks and cantinas that will transport you back to the colonial era thanks to the brick and stone details of the area. Iconic writers such as Trotsky and great painters like Frida Kahlo seeked refuge and inspiration in this area, and you can see the unique spirit of this neighborhood reflected in its colorful market where nieves, sopes and all kinds of traditional 'antojitos' are a must try. Restaurants and cafés throughout its peaceful paved streets contain traditional but unique murals and decorations, where one can enjoy a mezcal at noon or the best churros with a cup of coffee.
