In this little quarter, you can find gardens, colonial houses, markets, and also art exposition in the middle of the squares. Visit the church and the park with the Obregon's monument. Easy connection by the Metro Bus.

San Angel is a very old town in Mexico city and still it maintains the clasical colonial houses structure for many of the homes there. Some streets of the area are made of stone keeping them with a more antique style.

This a lovely neighborhood...is not in the center of town, but you can get to it via "Metro-bus" service in Ave. Insurgentes or taking a taxi...walk around...reach the Plaza San Jacinto (there is a very nice fair at this Plaza every Saturday...nice way to spend a couple of hours on Saturday afternoon). If you have time...don't miss it.

A community or burrough near downtown Mexico that is worth the visit on a Saturday morning when local vendors and artisians set up their works for sale. Peaceful, relaxing and some nice crafts and art work

We walked from Coyacan to San Angel, and enjoyed the square and activity. Art show in the park. Bazar Sabado had excellent crafts.

If you have never been here on a Saturday you are missing a true wonder. Hundreds of painters. sculptors and other artisans gather here to sell their artwork. In addition there is a tourist market that sells all sort of souvenirs, jewelry, leather, pottery, pewter, stained and blown glass and so much more. There are also some very interesting shops... I can go to Rodeo Dr. in Beverly Hills to see expensive top designer shops. These shops are not interesting to me - & not in my price range. The area is very high brow.

Spent a couple of hours wandering the market. Started at the art & painting area and made our way to jewellery area. Great prices and some unique handicrafts.

This area is picturesque with cobblestone streets and luxurious gated residences. It's nice to walk around the area should you find yourself nearby.

Staying in San Angel

Neighbourhood Profile
San Angel
San Ángel is known for its artistic vibe and elegant details displayed throughout its streets, antique residences and haciendas where famous actors like Consuelo Velázquez, Capulina and other prominent families used to live and that have now been turned into beautiful galleries, cafés and restaurants. An array of cultural and artistic activities are organized in the neighborhood, but it is on Saturdays when the San Jacinto Plaza and surroundings really shine as artists gather to exhibit a variety of arts and crafts, from paintings to clothing.
