I was twice in the Basilica. A Tuesday rainy afternoon where there were not too much people and on Friday, with more people to meet with. There are 5 churches to visit in this great place to understand history. I have to say that Santa Maria de Guadalupe has done miracles in my life and guided our mission on earth.... More

The grounds are beautiful. The story behind the Basilica is that the holy mother came to a local man and asked for him to go to the priests and ask for a church to be built in this place. He went and they asked for proof. She came to him again and asked him to go to a field and... More

Although is not near Mexico city is really a great place to go and visit. There is also a panoramic point but you need to access through a long stair.

Be sure to take running shoes, there are lots of stairs to climb! We enjoyed walking through the church and listening to locals play music for the Virgin. After, we climbed a beautiful pathway up to the Tepeyac, where the Virgin Mary appeared to Juan Diego. The little chapel rests on top of a hill, and the views are amazing!... More

We went with a guide to visit the churches but wandered further on our own and found the statues and the gardens, well worth the extra walk the gardens are beautiful and the statues are lovely you can throw a coin in the water and make a wish, we wished we could have spent more time there but being with... This complex is awesome with a ton of great photo opportunities! Make sure to give it at least 1-2 hours to really take it in, and keep in mind it is several structures and not just a single church. Below is a decent plan of attack and of course at each stop enter and take pics & soak it in.... More

Pyramids of Tiotihuacan were an excellent choice of visits to historical and native structures. If affordable I would take a private tour. Visits to the Catheral is also worthwhile. I did not go to the Palenco area but I understand that the ares has great food and shopping.,
