Loved the old Basilica, it's architecture and size. Felt blessed while attending a mass at the new Basilica.

If you are Catholic then this is very important. For everyone else it is rather overdone. Herding visitors past the image of the virgin on a conveyor belt is tacky. My husband thinks it was important to see for understanding Mexican culture.

there are more than 30000 churches in Mexico. This is one that is a must- a combination of a new church-very big and massive with an older one with the picture of the lady. A must see place while in Mexico

I don`t like church so much, but this one is worth to check it out. All the history behind it, very cool. and the original one that it is crashing, it's awesome. When you enter it feels a little drunk, cause is sunken. Cool

The story of the tilma (cape) of Juan Diego, which holds the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, is the Shroud of Turin miracle of the New World. Two churches were built to honor this miracle, the old (small) one, and the new (large) one....More

I wen't there expecting a nice church, something like that. In fact there are several and the area itself is pleasent to walk around. (I say this from a keen walker, sightseer and photographer viewpoint). Interesting contrast between hideous 60/70's architecture and the rest. Getting...More

Enjoyed my visit to the grounds here, this stop was bundled into a tour of the Pyramid or the sun/moon tour. Interesting juxtaposition of the old churches and new. The history both present day and past as it relates to the patrons was fascinating too;...More
