Great place to walk around

It´s in a bit ugy area of the city, but it´s worth it. Go there to get some flours, even if you will put them at your hotel room. really cheap!

The hub of shopping activities for people of Mexico City takes place in this market. So much to see, buy and experience. Take a walk through this marvelous market.

We visited this market with a tour guide. It was great. All those spices, fruit, vegetables, meats (doesn't stink!) and other stuff, wow! We bought 4 different kinds of mole to take home. Lunch at a taco place.

I go to Jamaica just about once a month. I really like it there. You have to go after 8pm because that is when the trucks come and everything is a better price. You can do a little bartering. They have exotic fruits, vegetables, and nuts but the prices are quite a bit more expensive than other markets. 24 roses... More

Among the hectares of fresh flowers sold here you'll find a bloom to match the colours of your eyes. Sitting beside this colourful bounty we sample the corn again, sizzling in great pots of gruel. Fried grasshopper, anyone? I love them. The femme raises two hands in disgust. There goes my kissing rights for a week. I was instructed to... More

If you are looking to buy flowers for your loved one or for a funeral this is the place. They are fresh and very cheap. The down side: the traffic to get there and sometimes the parking situation. In december you could see all the giant piñatas they make and buy natural xmas tree. There are some options to eat... More

What a wonderful market! It's enormous, colorful, and full of people, meats, vegetables, fruits, and flowers! It's easy to get to via Metro. There are some wonderful places to eat there as well...including Carnitas Patty. A must-visit.

This is a nice mercado place in Mexico City. It is mainly flowers, but has an array of other things as well. It seems to be safe, as long as you take the general precautions. Its not a must-see if you are limited on time.

The flowers section of El Mercado de Jamaica is very nice. It is expansive and is very busy around Valentine's Day and Mother's Day every year. However, the food sections are fantastic as well ... particularly the vegetable/produce sections. Where you can get mole, really, really high quality produce, nuts and spices! A recommendation ... If you take Calle Torno... More

We visit Mexico City often so we are always looking for interesting places to visit. This market is amazing. truckloads of flowers everywhere. It smelled amazing. everything is so cheap. 2 dozen gladiolas for less than $4.00. Lots of exotic flowers and the regulars (roses, carnations, glads, zinnias, etc). I wouldn't recommend this to anyone on a limited stay but... More
