I've been on many subway systems and Mexico City outshines quite a few in the U.S. and around the world. For one: it's really cheap and affordable; two, it's clean except at the end of the day, but the next morning shining; three, it's safe,...More

Everyone told me - including a Mexican local friend - not to use the Metro from the airport. Horror stories. What nonsense. Having just come from NYC, it's much nicer, with marble flooring, trains every 3 minutes without fail, and one-eleventh (yes, that's right, less...More

Be smart when you use the metro. Don't flash a bunch of cash and be aware of your surroundings. The metro was built by the same company that built the metro in Paris. It's fast and easy to use. Fun experience and sure beats taxis...More

Yes it’s busy. Yes there are a lot of people. Go with the flow. The system is fairly easy to navigate. Be prepared for rush hour. Person space is redefined. Be aware of the people around you. Never felt unsafe.

Just take one simple precaution, and you will have a great metro experience: go pickpocket-proof. If you have to carry a big camera around or a bunch of purses and bags, or if you can't think of any place to put your wallet than your...More
