Stunningly beautiful church

I have visited this church many times as a tourist interested in art and architecture and every time I enter I am overwhelmed by the sheer splendor of the place.

This was a really nice church with a museum inside. They charge to go in the museum so be prepared. You will be waking but there's many vendors outside with food and drinks

Even atheists will find this a church worth visiting. An architectual marvel in equisite church and you're likely to see weddings if visiting on a weekend.

Beautiful church, busy little square outside that is also a lovely visit. Don't miss the museum attached to it!

Look at those ceilings! Nice lady doing the tour also. Go when there is mass, otherwise the light is not great.

A beautiful church that thankfully was restored to its religious use in 1938..The decorations inside are stunning, many sheets of gold leaf were used in the restoration..It is on a plaza which is a great place to sit and watch the world go by.The monastery is now a museum which houses many pre-Colombian artefacts. The monastery gardens are now the ethnobotanical gardens... Located in the center of town it is certainly worthwhile to visit this "Templo". The decorations are impressive.

Santo Domingo has a WOW factor the minute you walk into the church. We've seen many churches through our travels, Santo Domingo is amongst the most beautiful. Don't miss visiting the inside.

The inside of this is decorated just as heavily as the Vatican or any other European church. Definitely worth the few minutes it takes to walk in and look around. Please be respectful, the church is still in use.
