We had such a wonderful tour with Claudia and Yves! Communication was prompt in setting up the trip. They have almost 20 years of experience putting these trips together and had plenty of recommendations. They tailored the trip to our requests including a hike suitable for my senior citizen parents and a lighter second day for my mother with more... More

My wife and I have just completed this hike, with 2 other couples, and Eve, from Tierraventura Eco Tours. The trip was everything, as advertised. The total trip was approximately 55 km of walking. The villages that we stayed in; Liano Grande, Cuajimoloyas, and Latuvi, were all very picturesque at near 3000m elevation. The guest houses established by the regional... More

My wife and I are so enriched by the great adventure we took hiking through Apoala Valley with Yves and Claudia, and for the peaceful time we spent in Santiago Apoala. Our trip began in Oaxaca, including riding in a van for about two hours into terrain which gradually became more and more scenic, and travelling through rustic and charming... More

This was an incredible day- the highlight of a wonderful week in Oaxaca. Claudia and Yves took us off the beaten track to villages where we learned about the crafts directly from the village artisans. The artisans were incredibly gracious and there was zero pressure to buy things - which is the focus of many tours in Oaxaca. This was... More

This 2 day tour was amazing and unforgettable. The experience had such depth. Thank you so much Claudia & Yves! I especially appreciated the relationship and connection they have with the community. Besides being very knowledgeable, they are really good people. Can't wait to go on another tour with Tierraventura :)

My wife and I, along with two friends spent a day hiking the cloud forest, starting at Llano Grande. Yves and our local guide, Sergio, were very friendly and knowledgeable for our 10 mile hike. The views here are unlike anything you could imagine in southern Mexico. Mosses, lichens, flowers, massive agave, birds, wild horses and much more. Our day... More

We did this in December, so it was quite cool, but still so worth it. It is an excellent way to see a part of Mexico that isn't accessible as an independent traveller. The trip was very well organised, great food and accommodation and very informative guides. Claudia was very easy to deal with. Be sure to join in any... More

We took two tours: Pueblos Manucommunados and Route to the Coast. On the first hike, it was pretty tough for us, but Yves and Claudia were very accommodating in adjusting the distance. They have chosen a delightful menage of sites. We esp. enjoyed getting a close-up look at rural life in the more indigenous areas. If you have any hesitancy... More

This experience is a must-do. Take as many days as you can and let Claudia and Yves be your guides. We spent 3 days and 2 nights in three towns in the Sierra Norte. We had three local guides (in addition to Claudia and Yves) who taught us about natural medicine, traditional practices, mountain life, plants, animals, and anything else... More
