Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very nice little wax museum, which takes you through sections... i liked that.. and in some, you were able to pose and interact yourself, which was very cool. Some of the wax figures looked very very good, while others not so good haha, but still, we had good fun.

I'd heard about the Wax Museum and decided to visit. It is very quaint, has rooms that are theme oriented and captures the wax images of many of the current/former leaders. It only takes about 20 minutes to go through the entire Museum but I felt it was something that added to my visit in Cancun. The day I came, they included the Cinema and the Aquarium as extras for admission. That made it even more of a bonus as I went to the other offerings.

The museum is in the second floor at Plaza La Isla at the Hotel Zone in Cancún. It's just an empty sace that I'm pretty sure they decided to fill up with "something" and wax figures was the best option. Good thing that they have an elevator, big enough for a regular wheelchair. It is like a labyrinth and doesn't feel like "organized". Anyway, some of the figures are pretty cool. They look so real you believe they will reach out their hands and will talk to you. Some others are really crappy. The worst: Chewie (SW). The best: Queen Elizabeth and Steve Jobs. The Avengers' figures are disappointing. BUT the service was not good but GREAT. Oney and Mauricio went beyond regular service. They took the time to give to my husband extra special treatment by putting him up and down as many times as necessary in different sets. I am very thankful for that cause even though I know it is part of their job, these actions give good memories to hubby. So thank you very much Oney and Mauricio. You were AWESOME. Now, PRICES. For foreigners everything is really cheap in Mexico right now since the dollar is 1 = $20, BUT the WM particular exchange rate is 16 pesos for each one of your green bills. Kids: (ages 0 - 4) FREE. Ages 5 - 11: $20 USD Kids 12 y-o and adults: $27 USD. Btw. It will take you about 45 minutes to see the whole thing.

A complete waste of money! The wax works are so old and need updating.
We paid for the package which included Ripleys Believe or not. This part was great including the big wheel. For some ridiculous reason the wax works place was on a different site and not easy to find.
Many of the waxworks you can’t take photos of and the staff follow you around the exhibits. Very intimidating.

Oh my god, what a scam. As an American living in Mexico I thought I’d seen everything, but this wax museum brings scamming gringos to a new low.
Most of the wax figures are terrible. And, the ones that are decent, they charge you to take a picture with.
Yes, after paying $30 to get in, they have a photographer follow you around. When you come to a figure that you want to take a picture of, they say you must use their camera and their guy. Then they want $12 for each picture.
When I said no and I’m not doing that, the photographer stood in the way making it impossible to take a picture.
Avoid this scam! Don’t go to the Cancun Wax Museum!!!

How can i start, well, got a discount and paid $40 for two people, once inside their is a photographer that followes you around the museum from beginning to end. U are allowed to take puctures of the wax figures that have red tape in front of them but the more popular onces like the simpson, some star wars figures, the smurfs and the last room with several famous movie characters you are not allowed to take pictures. We took one picture with the simpsons character and then tip the photographer also. This museum felt rush and i didnt enjoyed it compared to the museum in las vegas where u are free to do whatever u please and dont feel rush at all . Ill pass on it next time.

Hello! There is rush at all. You are free to take as long as you want.
We have a photographer to help you with your photos.
We are sorry if you feel that way, but it is not a reality. Once you entered the museum, you can spend how much time you like!

Had the pleasure of coming to Cancun with the family. We're regulars so we were looking for something a little different and came across the museum in the plaza. It's an enjoyable experience all around. It's more interactive than the Madame Tussaud's Museums. This Cancun Museum will send you with a tour guide to take more professional pictures per request and with some special rooms to do themed pictures. Overall it's good fun for couples or family and is recommendable when looking for something a little different in Cancun for a well valued price. The staff was also incredibly friendly and fun.

I have gone to Mexico, Guadalajara and this one ... Of the three this has been the most expensive, less characters and they limit you to take photos with some characters to sell each one at the end in 160 pesos, although if it is fun and original, for the reason that I mentioned above I can't give it more than 3 stars ...

It was a great wax Museum to visit... the wax figures were beautiful. The reason it’s 3 Stars is because i noticed if you’re American they charge you an extra fee. If you’re paying in Mexican pesos they only charge 200 pesos... if you’re American paying in USD they try charging $20 USD which equals 400 pesos...

Hello robs4cr!
Here, just like a lot of other places in Cancun we have a regular price (in this case at the moment of your visit, 27 american dollars).
So, for the nationals (mexicans) the special price is 20 american dollars.
And the national currency is pesos, so we need to have a exchange rate (which was 18 pesos for 1 dollar at the momento of your visit).
Hope we could clear your concerns.
Thank you!

Are you allowed to take photos in the museum? Or is it like everything else in cancun where you have to pay a photographer for photos?
