About
Coco Bongo is one of Cancun’s best nightlife spots which will wow you with its unique line-up of shows and entertainment. Catch spartans performing stunts during ‘300’, sing along to classic hits during ‘The Beatles’, or marvel at a light show during ‘Queen’—complete with confetti and balloons falling from the ceiling. It’s Las Vegas meets Cirque Du Soleil at its very best, but with an open bar. Coco Bongo Cancun is conveniently located in the heart of Hotel Zone. Regular tickets are for standing only; for a seat, snag a Gold Member Pass or Front Row Pass. – Tripadvisor

- GJoDaveySwansea, United Kingdom89 contributionsDrinks are strong and the show is greatOther reviews did make me sceptical when it came to arriving and being seated , but it all went smoothly. We paid gold and got the gold band and sat at the second row. Drinks were strong and plenty were brought to us. The show was great but felt a little dated. Like there could have been more. I think it has such a reputation maybe I expected too much. The prices are steep but we did drink over half of our ticket in drinks if you compared them to UK prices. The club vibe afterwards is amazing. So it makes it all worth it and its a great experience.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 October 2023
- RSmiles1981Essex, United Kingdom69 contributionsEntertainment at its finest. Non stop!OMFG!! What a night!! Non stop entertainment from the moment the show starts. Service was fantastic but tipping helped massively and was well worth it. Very well organised and you didn’t feel like you were crammed in. Air conditioning coped well despite the hot outdoor temperatures. All in all, a great night. Beware of the noughts and crosses girls..!Hello RSsmiles, thank you for sharing. - RonBronx, New York8 contributionsHours of entertainmentAn amazing night. It was just my wife and I, and I bought the Front Row VIP Tix. It was $200...in my head I knew it was a lot. But I'm here on vacation and I've seen a little preview here and there. So I was hoping it was worth it. I was only walking distance from my hotel, but when I got there...the line to get in was LONG. I had pre-purchased my tix so I was told I could go to a shorter line. There's security checks. Before you get seated there's a bar area where you can order drinks to take into the show area. The Front Row VIP included reserved seating, the other tiers had only standing areas...my wife's feet wouldn't last long that's why I chose what I did. We got in about 930, and left around 2am. What best describes Coco Bongo is a mix of a dance club, Broadway musicals, some comedy, and movie shorts. I wanted to stay for last hour, but my wife was tired by that time. She wanted to leave at 1am but then 2 performances came on, and got her in a upbeat mood again. Drinks are unlimited, and they do serve burgers hot dogs and fries as well. They do have audience participation. I've paid 150 for tix to broadway shows that lasts about 2 hours. I've paid 100 for tix to a stand up special that lasts an hour and a half. Been to a club where I've spent 100 on entrance fee along with drinks. And I've spent 50 on the movies. This has all that for HOURS of GOOd entertainment.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 25 October 2023
- vicky114Milton Keynes, United Kingdom8 contributionsFantastic nightWe bought the front row tickets for seats located upstairs. I wasn’t comfortable with the seats as I have an extreme irrational fear of heights. We went downstairs and a member of staff said it was no problem and seated us at a table downstairs. The show and format of the night was amazing. It’s so professional and entertaining with some real wow moments! The staff were amazing and the team member looking after us brought us drinks all night, we didn’t even need to ask as we were constantly topped up. It was a brilliant night, with a great atmosphere and it was one of the best evenings ever. If I returned to Cancun it would be the first thing I would book. Thanks to all the staff for the great service!Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 11 November 2023
- Amanda BRedding, California7 contributionsExcellent entertainmentCarlos set us up at the Royalton CHIC this was a birthday night the girls will remember forever! VIP section 💯 worth it. The entertainment never stopped one show to the next with lots of energy! We wanted a nightclub scene but also a show absolutely the best of both worlds. Very impressed will return.¡Thank you! - Catherine CKent, United Kingdom53 contributionsCoco BongoWe purchased our tickets from rep in the hotel l. It was confusing as we booked a table only to find out it was a standing booking with no seats. We upgraded to a seated area! On arrival our seats were not as sold to us leaving us feeling a bit cheated. A staff member offered us the seating area we thought we had purchased at an additional cost! Our anticipated fun time was fast becoming a money haemorrhage! We declined! The dancers assembled and we thought it was an out of sync shambles. It is a disco show and the show sections were excellent with great aerial displays. The lip sync was also good as was the concept of music from around South America and beyond. We were moved into a more expensive area at no extra charge and the server was excellentHello Catherine, thank you for sharing. We apologize for the missunderstanding but we are glad in the end you got to enjoy the party atmosphere and the shows. We hope to see you again very soon. - Ashleigh WChesterfield, United Kingdom36 contributionsIt’s a must in Cancun!!Me and my partner booked tickets through a coco bongo rep in our hotel. They arranged transport for us on the way there, but recommended a bus or taxi back. We had such a good night from start to finish. I am not a massive nightclub person and I hate being in the middle of the crowd, so we opted for Gold tickets mainly for the seating, but gold also included burgers/hotdogs/chips and premium spirits. Our waiter was great, he kept bringing us 2 drinks each at a time and towards the end of the night he didn’t even ask what we wanted they just kept appearing. Food was fine, but definitely not a full meal so I would recommend eating before you arrive, as it’s more of a snack. Coco bongo is definitely a must see if you are in Cancun. I probably wouldn’t go again due to the price, but I’m so glad we got to experience it on our first time in Cancun.Hola Ashleigh, thank you for sharing. We hope to see you again very soon. - 52laura111Rome, Italy78 contributionsIncredible show!Coco bongos was recommended to us by a lot of friends and family and overall it did not disappoint, the show and drinks service for the gold package was amazing! Only negative would have been that you are told with a gold package you get a table/seat which is not the case, it’s on a first come first served basis and not everyone had one. I was sat down but my husband stood the whole time next to me as there were no spare seats. We would have felt very different without a seat at all and it was disappointing he had to stand the whole time, we paid a lot of money for a seat so this was my only negative! The show itself was incredible and worth a visit!Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 December 2023
- Ishi KAnn Arbor, Michigan11 contributionsFun clubbing night!Coco Bongo was an awesome experience! The whole show was incredibly well coordinated and we had a great night. Our group booked tickets ahead of time on their website and got to the venue around 10. We didn’t have much of a line at all and were able to see all of the performances. We had standing room tickets and were able to be near the bar which was great for the included drinks. Highly recommend to anyone who likes dancing and a great show!Hello Ishi, thank you for sharing. - MCOGLAGlasgow, United Kingdom36 contributionsCocbongo Saturday NightSpectacular show however it is absolutely ram packed. It could do with more air conditioning due to this. Only good thing is you can go in and out throughout the evening as you choose if you need fresh air. Unlimited drinks included in price. Good views from standard tickets save your cash.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 February 2024

The people at Cocobongo oversells this place. We were a big group (18 of us) made a reservation with time and paid $120 per person. We were supposed to have an area reserved only for us but what we got was an area that seemed like a freeway. All people entering the place will pass by our area and block the view to the stage, so you end up looking at people’s backs rather than the show, but t was not only the people entering the place but also the staff will come, stop in front of us to watch the show (sometimes there were 5 of them), so again, they blocked our view and didn’t even care. When we asked them to have the people move they say they couldn’t do it (even when some people where practically in our laps). Our waiter was doing his best to get the people to move but he couldn’t do much.
The show was ok but not worth $120, maybe $20 or $30, no more.
There were so many people that we were afraid that if there was a fire or other kind of emergency we will be trampled to our death. More and more people kept on entering the place and there was no stop, I don’t think the owners should be allowed to get so many people in such a small place. The worst thing, to leave the place you have to cross the overcrowded dance floor. I do know now how sardines may feel! This place is horrible!
Avoid the aggravation and don’t go to Cocobongo. We had more fun the night before at Monkey Business and they don’t charge to get in, you only pay for your drinks.

Coco Bongo is a party place for tourists and locals. The night we came they were charging 50$ US for open bar per person. The weekend we came was when the Corona Virus started to be very serious and we noticed the club was not very busy. This place has great entertainment shows and great music. It may get a bit wild. There is a lot of alcohol because it’s open bar; you pay one fee and young party goers get very loud. I recommend you watch you drink and be safe because open bar sometimes makes us drink out of control and being a tourist in another country like in Cancun Mexico may be unsafe if you do not have all your senses in control.

We went to coco bongo while in Cancun in December. Friends of ours had recommended getting the gold membership- wow what a show! The performance is fantastic. Such a production. We paid $155 USD through our hotel (same price on the coco bongo website) and I personally think the gold membership is worth the money as you get a seat at a table and have drinks brought to you. We tipped after the second round of drinks and this definitely helped with how promptly we were served. Downstairs in the general admission area it was extremely crowded and lines for drinks were long which would impact on your viewing. Such a fun night out in Cancun and deffs a must do activity! Such talented people at coco bongo.

Simply spectacular. It is worth paying the regular price. Inside the club they wanted to sell us a table for $120. That is not worth it. When we got out of the taxi, a girl asked us if we had tickets, got us 2 and made us pass without waiting (there was a line of 20 people). The disco closes at 4 am, it is worth going at 11 to not miss any shows.

The place that I visit on Saturday with a “gold” entrance is the worse invest in vacation activities that I did in long time. The place was packed of people and is impossible to enjoy the show because was insufficient the air condition, the people is pushing, passing with beers and drinks and splashing you and there is no space to dance. The small portion of the show that the conditions allow me to see was nice, maybe off season and week days can be a good option.

We came a few times while in Cancun. You have to order food if you want to drink, so I can say the guacamole is very good! The service was decent and the music good. We were going to check out the club upstairs but every time we tried to get in we were told VERY different amounts. Once was $100 another time was $500 per person, so we passed.

I went to Coco bongo with my boyfriend and got the regular admissions but the amount of people that they stuff inside this place is absurd! I couldn’t even order a beverage because I was scared I was going to fall out of my hand as people kept passing by I was squished the whole time I Alamo’s fell back into the stairs of the VIP people. If you people are going to go make sure you have enough money to spend to pay for the gold seating area. Also the workers said that the leftover beer is put in a bucket and it’s served in another cup for somebody else. DISGUSTING!!

Let’s start it with the negatives. We purchased 4 Front Row tickets, cost about $156 per ticket totaling around $627USD. According to their website via customer service, the front row tickets include 15 PREMIUM DRINKS. However what they fail to tell you is that, Don Julio and Patron is not included in the premium drink option.... ok?? If they told us up front, we would’ve purchased a VIP table, which costs $658 plus 2-3 bottles according to their customer service, via the website. We had to pay an extra $300.00 because why? We didn’t want cheap liquor and we bought 2 bottles of don Julio costing us an additional $150 per bottle. We also didn’t get any snack that was promised on the ticket as well. And the waiter service included with our purchase wasn’t the best. He was barely around. We spent a total of $927 in this establishment. Online customer service and via person service are two different services and they do not communicate with each other. We were told certain things were included in the ticket online, and in person, they told us certain things weren’t included with the ticket. BUMMER.
Positives: the show was fantastical!!! There is limited capacity because of covid, so we purchased our tickets in advance(didn’t work out great). You are able to buy tickets at the door for an up charge of $4. The show ran from 8pm-12am. Which was nice, it was entertaining all night. They hassle you to buy shots(smirnoff) and photos throughout the night. We purchased one photo. It kind of felt like I was at a basketball game. They did a kiss camera throughout the night as well. It’s a combo of cirque du soleil, mixed with live action movie, and a concert. They went through popular artists, movies, shows. I really enjoyed myself. I would recommend anyone go to Coco bongo atleast once in their life. They do the same shows throughout the Caribbean. It was a great time.

Went on a Gold Pass that we bought at the Hotel which included a seat and free drinks. Wasn’t cheap but needed to see what all the fuss was about and in fairness the show itself was very good. A waiter also made sure we had drinks all night with little or no waiting to be fair.
What was annoying though was the constant pressure to sell you upgrades and be careful of the women who come around with shots as they charge you 5 Dollars a shot despite all drinks supposedly being free.
All in all worth a visit with the acts being very good but let down by the constant pressure to upgrade or being given drinks that turn out not to be included which they don’t tell you and then ask for money.

I was told by so many people before coming here that I needed to go to this place and I am so glad I did. We booked VIP tickets through our hotel which were about £100 each but that was such great value. Upon arrival the service was brilliant and the entertainment was possibly the best I have seen and I go to a lot of London West End shows. When I return to Cancun I will be coming back here simply amazing.

How can you be guaranteed a seat/table? It seems like many people were charged believing they would get a seat but didn’t get one. While the experience looks fantastic, I would not want to pay if this was not guaranteed.

We are a couple who like luxury and love to drink and dance , which tickets should we buy
Written 4 February 2023
Question about their tickets. From their website, I gathered this info:
$90 - GENERAL ticket, includes entrance, shows, open bar (national drinks), water, soda, juice and snack (2 mini burgers or hot dogs)
$116 - PREMIUM open bar, includes entrance, shows, open bar (premium drinks), water, soda, juice and snack (2 mini burgers or hot dogs)
$150 - GOLD member, includes entrance, shows, reserved seat VIP zone, open bar (premium drinks), water, soda, juice and snack (2 mini burgers or hot dogs)
$185 - FRONT ROW, includes entrance, shows, reserved seat VIP zone front row, open bar (premium drinks), water, juice, soda and snack (2 mini burgers or hot dogs)
with the cheapest option (general) do you still have to pay extra for drinks or does open bar mean the drinks (not premium) are included?
None of these options included skip the line access, so what is a good time to get there to stand in line?
I've seen a separate, private company offer a skip-the-line access (for $150 USD) is this worth it? Does it really let you skip the ilne? Do they try to upsell more to you after you walk through the door?
I just want to have a fun time, see a good show and have a few drinks and get decent service. I am not a big drinker so I am not fussy or picky. Can I get this for the $90?
