This was a great museum with excellent exhibits and a wonderful outside archaeological site. This is a full morning out and well worth it. The external exhibits are well laid out and you really feel you are in a jungle! The museum interior is contemporary...More

We visited the Mayan Museum of Cancun in August of 2018. It was an overall excellent experience. We highly recommend the museum to learn about the local history.

I'd call this place a hidden gem. There are no advertisements...no one really recommended it. We just kind of stumbled upon it as it was 0.5mi. north of our resort. This place had an expansive display of Mayan relics on display in a nicely air...More

The museum, including the Mayan ruins on site, was such a breathe of fresh air in such a tourist-heavy area like Cancun. We spent 2 hours there walking through exhibits and the ruins. It was really nice to get an appreciation for the history of...More

The place is nice, If you are Mexican on Sundays is free, remember to carry an identification, if you are student or teacher more better. The place is so clean and the tour of the area was so pleasant and the exhibitions was interesting.

A short walk from our hotel. The archaeological site included a pyramid and the museum was interesting. At $3/person, an enjoyable couple of hours learning more about the Mayan culture and history.

We have been in Cancun for a week and while we are having a fabulous time in an all inclusive we really wanted some culture, something different. We had been in Mexico before on a Yucatan tour and so I think we were missing the...More

Much smaller than expected. I enjoyed the outdoor path to the ruins (400 meter walk according to the guard) mainly because it was the only peaceful, quiet place I found during my 6-day stay in Cancun.

Wish there was just a bit more details on the outside portion. It was cool to be wandering the trails and hear the traffic right outside, like two worlds colliding.

We purchased tickets on site, just inside the entrance area in front of the gift shop. I do not remember the price of the tickets but it was not unreasonable. Have a good time and take good walking shoes.

It should be about a 15 minute drive. Note that you'll need to go past and make a u-turn at one of their turn-around spots when you go there. I do not think they have a snack bar, however the museum is small and you will be... More
