Some were exceedingly drunk, others seemed to hold their alcohol very well. The food was OK, 3 boxes with selections for appetizers, main courses and desserts. Plenty of mixes and soft drinks on ice. You arrive at the parking area, walk a fairly long distance and wait for your boat of 20 passengers to be ready to launch. There are 2 crew, one pushes or punts, say like a Venice Gondola, the other is the entertainment on board. You pass several bands, stop and watch, listen and dance. There are 100’s and 100’s or employees. It is amazing as buses continue to bring in tourists form all the different resorts in the area. We were picked up at 6:35 PM and returned back just before midnight. It is an expensive ticket, but I now understand why. I recommend it for the whole family.

Free flowing Tequila, on a free floating dinner boat, with lots of interesting music. Your experience will depend on two things: The people you have on your boat and the "host". With fun loving people and an experienced, energetic host - you will have a great time. The food (actually small snacks) was good, but the entertainment was great. Our only disappointment was in the limited views you had on shore. We read that this was a trip through replica Mayan lands, but there was actually little to see except what was on the river trip itself. The Mariachi bands were professional and had great energy. Boats are somewhat cramped, but there is enough space to have fun, and we even danced a little (but at one point the energy of the rest of the guests almost caused me to get pushed over the side . . . be careful standing on these boats).
Be prepared for some bugs along the way, and a late night. The picture package is worth it.

The fiesta takes place in the evening; entry to the entertainment complex requires pre-purchased tickets (the ticket includes dinner, unlimited alcohol and various shows). The party begins with a musical welcome in a mansion with Mexican interiors. While the rest of the guests are gathering, you are offered an aperitif. You are then escorted to the harbor where there are more than 10 large boats with their own name and beautiful decoration. You are shown which boat to board, each boat holds about 16 guests, 1 boatman and 1 entertainer. In the middle of the boat there is a long table with dishes and snacks, and under the table there is tequila and other drinks (self-service). The boat begins to sail along the river to cheerful music, the guests get to know each other, the host says toasts and jokes. The point of the party is to be the most fun company among the boats. That's why everyone tries to laugh loudly and dance inside the boat. During the 2-hour trip, the boat docks several times at different islands, where various shows are shown, and at the last stop, guests are invited to the shore, where a local ensemble awaits them. The disco begins. The boats then take guests back to the starting mansion. Considering the unforgettable fun, I advise you to definitely attend this party.

I'm not normally someone who writes reviews, but I wanted to warn other people about how these people do their business. It all started when they refused to honor a completely valid coupon for absolutely no reason at all. They were rude and gave no explanation for why they were refusing the coupon. Unfortunately, things only got worse from there. Our instructor must have been new, because he seemed lost and unconfident the entire time. I was under the assumption that the instructor was supposed to be engaging and was there to create a unique environment, but for the most part, all he did was stand there as we ate and drank. I came with a group of people who were local to the area and had been here before and they immediately knew that our instructor did not know what he was doing. We tried to make things interesting by singing and dancing, but the instructor deemed that this wasn't safe and told us to take our seat. What was even more odd was seeing people on other boats seemingly enjoying their time and interacting with their instructors in a fun and engaging way.
We reached the halfway point of our trip and got off for a scheduled restroom break only to find out that we weren't being allowed on the boat because we weren't following protocols. This of course was completely false. We approached the staff and confronted them about what was an obvious lie and they refused to even have a conversation about it. Complete ripoff for 100 bucks. Do not come here.

We chose Xoximilco as one of our trips for this awesome vacation and I can honestly say it was one of our best decisions yet. This activity is EXTREMELY fun and lively, so if you're not the type to enjoy active atmospheres, it's probably not for you. If you like energy and dancing, however, I cannot recommend this enough. Our guide, Hector, and conductor, Ruben, were both extremely attentive and amiable. Hector was very charismatic and funny and made us play escorpion (which I did wrong, but that's beside the point ). He always had something witty to say but was still very informative regarding food and the such.
Speaking of food, it is three different courses. First is snacks, then is the main course, and then is dessert. It's small portions of everything as you're supposed to be trying these traditional food. Despite this, we all left feeling quite full because of the great variety of the plates. For drinks there is (obviously) tequila, but you're also provided beer and non alcoholic drinks, which we never ran out of. Additionally, you get to try traditional Mexican coffee, sweetened and unsweetened! Overall, the gastronomy was pleasing.
My favorite part was the music and dancing. We saw and listened to a variety of musicians throughout the trip, all extremely interactive and talented. We danced plenty and laughed a lot. Genuinely, listening and moving to the music was one of the best things, so if you plan on coming, take the chance to loosen up a little and dance!
Overall great experience with awesome tour guide, conductor, good, and musicians. Loved it!

I brought my parents to show them an authentic Mexican fiesta and was not really impressed, specifically the food. You are paying for the infrastructure of the location and the many people who are working there but no for an Mexican Fiesta. You will get plenty of free cheap booze and fun if you are in a group (the more the merrier) but we didn't like the food at all. The show itself, t is better the show at Xcaret part or in other places. There were 2 events closed but didn't get any discount of credit for.

Jorge Luis was our guide and he made the experience so much more exciting with his entertaining expertise. The boat consists of multiple families and couples. The only downside is if you're stuck with people that do not participate in the entertainment. You just got to make the best of it. Overall great service, great good, and great ambiance!!

Omg what fun! I went in this for my 50th bday celebration and is was the best extiende and I had lots of fun. I mean, getting to dance to the different cultural Mexican dances was everything. We also got to eat authentic Mexican food and have lots of tequila. A floating fiesta indeed!

Fantastic, entertaining and a 1 of a kind experience. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a good time on an evening while in Cancun. Edwin really kept the crowd engaged and the food was amazing. Pay no attention to reviews about the portions because although each are small, there was a good sampling of each. Drinks were plenty (lots of tequila) and live music at every turn. Hope to return again on future visits to the Riviera Maya.

Hi, my wife has Celiac Disease, meaning she she gets very ill if she eats anything that contains gluten (wheat, barley, rye, triticale).
Are there any food options on the menu that are gluten free? Is there a way to make sure her food is completely free from gluten?

We concider going on this trip with Xoximilco cancun. Seems very fun. I was wondering if we select transport.. does the transport pick us up at the hotel? We stay at Emporio, zona hotelera.

We are planning on doing Xoximilco. We are staying at Xcaret and it says we get picked up at 3:20. Does anyone know why we get picked up so early if it's only a 45 minute trip? I'm curious as to how we are going to pass the time once we gat there.

Yes, you would be able to enjoy it any ways. There are mostly like little games that they do on the xoximilco, whoever loses usually get to drink a shot but if you don’t drink you have other options like dancing or grito mexicano. Yet there are many other things to enjoy there, like the music, the food, and the dessert.
