About
Isla Pasion is a secluded island paradise in the Caribbean. Located just ten minutes from Cozumel by boat, Isla Pasion is the ultimate beach vacation spot. Take a dip in the crystal-clear waters, lounge in a hammock, go out to sea in a kayak, and spot some stingrays. The best time to visit the island is between November and March, when the weather is more pleasant. You have to buy an all-inclusive day pass or package tour to visit the island. It’s a popular destination for weddings. – Tripadvisor

- mylah v1 contributionHIGHLY RECOMMENDEDAida and Leo were our hosts on Cozumel from the Disney Fantasy. We rode their catamaran to Isla Pasion and they were so friendly, efficient, and funny. They checked up on us frequently and made sure everything was going smoothly. Boat was squeaky clean. We had so much fun! Muchas Gracias!See you next! This was the only regret we had on our 8 day stay in Cozumel. We were most excited for our visit to Isla Pasion and it was the biggest let down. We were not on a cruise so our experience was likely different from most.
There was a long, adventurous drive down a dirt road with giant holes filled with water. Fortunately, we had a jeep so the drive was pretty fun. Any other kind of vehicle would have been in big trouble on that drive.
We make it to the parking lot and are greeted by a half dozen raccoons begging for food. That was cute and fun though I learned the next day on a different excursion that many of them are rabid so it may not have been such a good idea for the encounter!
A man sits by the dock and asks us if we want just the boat ride or the full access. We ask about the difference and he says for $10 per person you get a ride over to the island but if you pay $65 per person you get the ride and a buffet and drinks. $260 was a bit too much for the unknown and our kids don't drink so we opted for just the boat ride.
The captain drops us off and says he'll come get us in a couple of hours. He says we must stay on this side of the island and cannot go to where the activities are no matter what! Where we were dropped off was loaded with litter. Beer cans, plastic tubs, lids, and my personal favorite...tampon applicators. We were supposed to stay here for hours? No thanks. We walked around the corner and were met aggressively by a guy who says we weren't supposed to be there. He says we cannot walk around the island and we cannot order drinks, we cannot order food. He went further to say that since we did not pay to be there, we could not even take photos. We could see cruise ship people who looked like miserable zombies just waiting to be told where to go next. The guy then said the club was only open for another 20 or 30 minutes anyway and we should come back tomorrow. So, if we would have paid $260 we would have had access for 30 minutes? Crazy.
We crossed the line anyway and sat on the beach for two hours. Made our way back on the boat and moved on to much better activities on the amazing island of Cozumel.
My personal recommendation for both a beach club by day and a fantastic dinner experience at night is Buccanos. I promise it's a better experience than this one.

“All you can eat and drink” for a couple of hours on a private beach.
The ride from the boat to the island is about 35 minutes (over an hour there and back) cutting into your time on the island. Any activities at all cost extra and honestly do not look worth the money. The drinks are half shots of liquor with syrup flavoring and water. I ordered a a margarita that tasted with Gatorade..... in Mexico. If you ask for a shot they will not give it to you. The beer is in a keg on the sand with a line running through a cooler with a tap attached. It is flat and warm. Why not just put the keg in ice?! I could’ve drank 50 of those drinks and not gotten a buzz. We were there for a bachelorette party so it was a let down. The food was absolutely terrible and barely a variety. The buffet is outside and there are flies covering it. All there is to do is lay in the sun and wade in the water. That is all. Spend a little more money and do something more fun or just walk around the port in Cozumel.

We visited on a cruise shore excursion and we're not disappointed. The excursion director, "Mamacita" was great and made the boat ride interesting. The island had great food and the service was great! I would definitely recommend it.

I traveled there for a family wedding. Most of the guest, including the Ordained Minister performing the wedding, were on a cruise ship and we met up on the island. We all paid for the excursion and no amenities of the island being used for the wedding. The manager of the island found out there was a wedding happening and came out swinging a Machete!! Kids everywhere and this man is swinging a Machete and being very threatening. He wanted $300 USD to allow this wedding that the island wasn't doing any arrangements for. Excursion for 12 people, including children, was paid for but that wasn't enough for him. When making my travel plans I couldn't find any tour agencies in Cozumel that works with the island, they all just said "too many issues with them". So I had to rent a jeep and get there myself. Now I understand why none of them work with Isla Pasion... It's Not safe especially for kids!! It's too bad really because it is very beautiful there, but when the island groundskeeper/manager comes out swinging a Machete at paid guest I would highly recommend Not visiting unless you're carrying your own machete. We were only on the island 2.5 hours total

I’m not sure where all the good reviews are coming from because this excursion was terrible. To start the dock was old and about to fall down. The beach chairs are old, dirty, and broken down. I never seen a hammock as advertised. The drinks were not included you had to pay for mixed drinks and it is advised as all inclusive. The only free drinks was soda, tequila, and Mexican whiskey. The buffet food was terrible it was cold plus we had to wait in line 30 mins. All the areas around the island were run down. The bathrooms were awful. This place is a joke and I would not recommend anyone to go to this place. Plus they hassle you for tips and to shop. You can’t just walk around and look at the shops without being harassed. Very disappointed in this excursion.

We did an all inclusive catamaran trip to Passion Island for the day from our cruise ship. It was the best ever!! The island is private and secluded. There are swings (3) and hammocks (5) strung out over the water. They had a buffet lunch of tacos, nachos and salads. Unending rum punch, margaritas, other drinks and dos equis beer. Every area there are waiters that serve you personally all day, so you build a relationship with your guy or gal. The only negative for me were the people coming around trying to sell spa services. Once they all saw you once they did not bother you again, so that was good. Nice game and play area for the kids. Music and dancing. I heard they sometimes have inflatables in the water to play on but the day we were there there was not. Cute shops but a bit pricey. Lovely lagoon area for photo ops. Will definitely go back!!

We visited passion island 11/11/22. Our tour guide Rafael was amazing. I just wanted to give you the good first. We were so excited to see the beach and paid $200 for my husband and myself. When we arrived there were vendors everywhere. The beach was blue and cloudy. The food wasn’t great and there weren’t many options. When you go to the bathroom your expected to tip someone to let you go in. Everyone I talked to was mostly from the cruise ship and had not been warned to go close to the man groves as that’s where the crocodiles live. I saw so many people venture of just walking in those areas and they weren’t warned, nor were there signs. The worst part is when I got home I realized I had been attacked by 200+ sans flies. It’s now exactly one
Week later and these bites are as bad or even worse than the first day. I’m taking. Benadryl, prednisone, putting caladryl on them constantly. Nothing works and I regret going on on that island. We spend 3 weeks in Mexico. Two at a resort in Cancun as our daughter was getting married and two in Cozumel. I didn’t have one bug bite till I got to that beach. Everyone kept saying it was the most beautiful beach. Honestly, there are multiple beaches in Cozumel that put us that beach to shame. You can go to a beach club and get chairs and umbrellas on these beautiful beaches. A waiter comes and takes your order and brings you your food and it’s much cheaper than that Island. I can I say I did it and will never go again. This was just my take on this beach, I’m sure others would love it.
PS. Also if you want a front the all inclusive drinks are crap. So bring money if you want a real drink. I don’t drink so it wasn’t a problem for me, biut I thing they lead you to believe your going to get great food and free drinks. Oth ate false advertisement. Thanks

We did Isla Pasion on our own by renting our own jeep to get to the ferry and taking the ferry over to the island. Our experience was just wonderful. There were only a handful of other families on the island during our ~3 hours there which made it nice during COVID to not worry about crowds. The beach is just STUNNING. They have beautiful white sand, palm trees, hammocks, swings, beach chairs, and a delicious restaurant with excellent service. I believe his name was Luis would be ready to take our order for another drink whenever we finished one and they even brought a table and chairs over to our spot in the sand so that we could eat our food on the beach instead of at the restaurant. I cannot recommend enough a visit to this island. This was a highlight of my trip to Cozumel!!

Our group of 13 friends chartered "Copy Cat" for a 5 hour private charter to Passion Island. The boat picked us up on our beach in the North end. It was challenging for them but it was all part of the adventure. The Captain, Alberto, and staff Antonio and Jesus were great. The boat was a comfortable power boat with sufficient shade. We loved the island but mainly because we stayed far away from the tour groups who come to the island for a couple of hours to eat, drink, and play. We explored the undeveloped areas and it is truly beautiful sandy beaches with both lagoon environments and Caribbean sea. I think this is definitely the way
to see the island if you have the opportunity.

If I could give it a zero I would. 50 minute ride out and an hour back with no water on the boat This was an all inclusive tour offered on Carnival. The buffet was cold and quite honestly nasty except for excellent guacamole. The all inclusive drinks are Dixie cups of various rum punches and one type of beer. If you want a frozen drink such as a margarita it is $8 for a Dixie cup. For many this might not be a problem but for our group it was highly disappointing. Tour guide said we were the first people ever disappointed. My final complaint was their constant begging for tips. Tips are earned for service. My advice is go to Mr Sancho's. Cheaper and truly all inclusive while ordering from a menu.

Is it a very long walk from Twister or the Catamaran?
Written 15 February 2022
For the catamaran, you walk off onto a long dock and then right onto the sand for a picture- after the picture you’re right on the beach. I would say it’s less than 50 yards.
