The square was relatively quiet with very few tourists. The shop owners were assertive in trying to get us into their stores. Nobody too aggressive, but we felt like a lot of people were suffering from too few patrons.

I've learned, from all of my visits to Cozumel, to just banter with the locals. Yes, they want you to buy, but they won't pressure you. If you're a single woman, don't take the male flirtations too seriously. It's just all in fun (mostly). Locals are curious, easy-going, informative. Cozumel relies on tourists and their money, and tourism has been way down for months. I try to be as nice as possible and to find out a little bit about what's going on-I've seen too many stores close down in the two months that I've been here. It hurts my heart, and I'm sure that it hurts them more. So enjoy the sand, sun and laughter. It's a good, healing place.

We went there twice during our three day stay. The sunset from the place is not to be missed. Please buy from the churro vendor in the east side of the plaza. Nice guy and clean little cart.

Always a great place for taking pictures and buying souvenirs. Social distancing was not a problem - not many tourists.

We loved shopping at the plaza. It was in walking distance from the cruise ship port and was maintained beautifully. There were several different photo op places featuring colorful Cozumel signage. Loved it!
