This was a nice place to visit. Nice art and history. It is centrally located so there is much to see in the very near vicinity. I would return to experience the palace and the square.

We were visiting Merida and was in the city center. Just happen to be the day the new Governor was starting his position. Recommend to stop by and see the amazing painting on the walls.

Free entrance. You can see a lot of murals about the Spanish domination and the maya independence. Also the architecture is worth to see.

I visit Merida often but never really came in here. I took time this time and went through every mural and signs. I appreciate the building itself, but reading the explanation of mural was very educational. Fascinating history. Of course murals and artifacts were beautiful.

The building is open until 8pm, filled with paintings depicting the Mayan struggles with the Spanish invasion. Plenty of things to see and do around this site.

Easy and worthwhile to see the giant paintings about the history of the Yucatan. I personally didn't think the artwork was beautiful, but very interesting. The artwork is almost all in one large room, so it's not overwhelming like an art museum might be. We...More

Nice area to sit and watch people navigating the roads and sideways. Plenty of cervesa cokes and nice eats. We had ceviche while we sat, and really enjoyed it.

It was rebuilt in 19th century to original archetectural specs. Famous murals were painted in the 1970's. A must see if your going to Merida
