So pleasant and calm compared with the circus that was Chichen Itza! Even though it was really hot - 39C plenty of shade to dodge into.

This archeological zone is one of the best conservative. I love it because is not crowded like Chichen Itza and you can get into the ruins.

I think if you like history this is the place to go. The only thing to see is the stone buildings, inside the buildings there is nothing, so once you've see one you've seen them all.

My second trip to Uxmal was as interesting as my first. It is not as crowded as Chichen Itza. Our guide informed us that it was known as the intellectual city of the past, where Chichen Itza was the more warrior-like city. In any case, a grand trip which included several other sites along the way. We arranged our trip... More

We really enjoyed our time here. Uxmal was by far the best archeology sight we visited in Mexico. It's easy to walk around and explore - there are a few steps in places but they weren't as step/narrow as some of the other sights we had visited. There are also heaps of lizards wondering around (seemed harmless and more scared... More

We took a tour and I found these ruins to be so mesmerizing. You can almost feel as if you went back in time and realized how hard life was back then and the construction of those tall pyramids with every detail representing life, earth, moon and the calendar so exact how smart they were. Sadly, I think the government... More

This is quite a large site and when we visited (morning in February) there were few other tourists. You can climb some of the pyramids and get a (proper use of the word) an awesome panorama. Worth at least half a day.

we enjoyed our tour of Uxmal very much. Our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable but the evening sound system is not very good and I would recommend it only be attended by people very fluent in Spanish. The extra level of echo in the sound system makes comprehension difficult for non- native speakers. But go and experience this wonder!... More
