We visited the library for their house tour. It was preceded by a pleasant talk in their lovely shaded garden. The talk gave us some insights into Merida as well as an opportunity to ask questions. The house tour was a fascinating look at 3 local houses, beautifully renovated and each one quite unique. The staff was warm and welcoming.... More

I attended a Monday night Spanish conversation event, where attendees were grouped by whether they wanted to practice English or Spanish, and then provided a host to guide a casual conversation. The library also hosts other events, and has an impressive number of books for checking out. I look forward to visiting the Merida English Library again.

First off, the place is absolutely lovely. This was a private home donated by the founder of the library. The staff is very welcoming and the library itself offers a variety of activities. The house tour is wonderful. As captioned above, three houses are visited after a talk on the history of Merida. It's well worth the cost for those... More

This charming library has a good selection of books, and lots of activities, too. I really like the walking tours they do to see some of Merida's beautiful homes.

First - double check the day and time here- it varies during the year. We visited 3 homes after a 30 minute talk on the history of Merida and its architecture. The money from your ticket goes to support the library Very interesting rehab scene going on here- fun to see what hides behind Merida walls and doors

If you find you have a little extra time, or just want to slow the pace down a bit, then visit this library. It is a short distance from the old town square, and have a variety of programs they host. I had the pleasure of participating in their weekly language night. If you want to improve your Spanish speaking... More

Not what I expected in the way of books, even donated ones. No AC, so it was uncomfortable hot. The personal not friendly or helpful

Dear Linda, Thanks for visiting the library, we are sorry you didn't have a positive experience. Any specific suggestions on how we can improve our book collection? What kinds of books were you expecting? One of the rooms is air conditioned and visitors are welcomed to turn it on and sit and read. This time of year it's hard to... More
