Take a look inside this building for a trip thru time and wander thru the Art. A must do when visiting Merida. It is on the Square close to lots of shopping and vendors. Lots of places in the Square to relax, people watch and rest if need be.

The murals painted by Castro Pacheco are a great depiction of the development of modern day Mexico. From the Mayan period, Spanish arriving to the freedom - liberation in the Conquest and Caste wars. All the murals are explained in Spanish-Mayan-English which makes understanding them very easy.

@9pm on Mondays, go here for the Vaqueria. You won't be disappointed. Make sure to bring your cameras.

The palace is opened for tour with no admission fee. Just say hola to the guards at the entrance and walk into the courtyard surrounded by murals. Go upstairs to see more murals and art showcase.

There are some really beautiful murals in this building that you should see. Even the Police are friendly as well.

I stopped in here while wandering around Merida. It's a great way to get out of the sun or a little while if it's hot. The paintings by Fernando Castro Pacheco are beautiful and give a lovely, pictorial overview of the local history. It's free to enter and wander around the Palacio. The second floor has a nice view of... More

A place with history, very beautiful colonial architecture. On Sundays, the traditional local people join and organize dances that are typical for the Yucatan peninsula.

Nice and kind of interesting but certainly not the highlight of the square. Stop by but don't spend too much time.

We wandered into this unbelievable palace located directly on Merida's main square. The structure itself is so impressive with a massive courtyard that allows sunlight flood the over sized art that decorated every corner of this historic building. It was our favorite site in all of Merida and there are many ...

Beautiful building, opposite Central Park. At night it's all lit up - breathtaking! This building is very many decades old.
