I got a little lost at one point, but was great for seeing some backroads. This took the whole day but was really worth the drive and sites. Loved Loltun. Do NOT skip this site!

beautiful route of mayan ancient places. a must if you visit the yucatan peninsula. Dont forget to get your mosquito killer.

Forgo Chichen and all the crowds bussed in from Cancun. The Puuc route offers amazing and different Maya ruins. Close to Uxmal and other attractions. Having a car is helpful, I drove from my hotel (Hacienda Xcanatun, excellent by the way) in under an hour....More

This is a must if you like archeological sites and have a car. It is very well sign posted and there is very little traffic on the road. All the sites are easy to find, with good parking. Each site has something different to offer...More

The ride along the ruta puuc is not especially scenic. There is a lot of forest trees and very little development along the route. For the most part the roads are in good condition, however our travel nearer the caves had a lot of potholes....More

Scenic road for great exploration and architectural interest. A must do when in Yucatan, with few smaller archeological site, with less visitors which make them easy to visit.

The Pickled Onion B&B is at Santa Elena. It's very close to Kabah and Uxmal. We saw the 4 smaller ruins first, stayed at the Pickled Onion, and went to Uxmal the following morning - no crowds:) I think it cost about $70... More
