A few months ago, I decided that I would propose to my girlfriend on a Caribbean getaway trip. We narrowed it down to Riviera Maya in Mexico at the end of Jaunary. As I was looking for things to do and agonizing over how I would propose, I stumbled onto Rancho Baaxal through Tripadvisor. My girlfriend has never been on... More

2 hour horse back ride through the lush forest to the beach and on the beach. Horses were all well fed and cared for. Theses horses all had wonderful personalities and were well behaved, experienced and not half dead as you typically see at resort riding rentals. We had an opportunity to canter on the beach a couple of times,... More

We've read about many other riding stables and from everything we read, Rancho Baaxal took the best care of their horses. After going there....they do. All of the horses are rescues, and I belive it's a non-profit organization. They really do it for the love of the horses. The trail ride itself was incredible. It was just our family of... More

Wow! This was our first time doing horseback riding while vacationing - usually we don't support tourist riding tours because most places don't seem to give a damn about the animals. We found Rancho Baaxal and got the impression from their website, TripAdvisor and the contact to Steffi that they're doing things right. And indeed they do! All the horses... More

Since our return from Mexico, we have been reminiscing of the nice ride we had at Ranch Baaxal. The genuine hospitality, concern for our well being and kindness to the horses made this a great find.

I've ridden for a few years, but my husband has a fear of horses. Jorge was a great support for both of us. My husband really enjoyed the horse he had (Rey) and I loved Pantera. Despite the mosquito population, we had a wonderul ride through the jungle and a great canter on the beach. Steffi made sure we had... More

This tour was one of the best thing we did on our vacation. It was right next door to Secret's Maroma Beach where we were staying, so close in face we walked. The tour was wonderful, my boyfriend and I were the only two who booked that morning so we got a private tour. I am an experienced rider but... More

I went with several friends to ride and we all had a wonderful experience. We all had different levels of experience with horses and our guide, Jorge, knew which horse to pair with which rider. The ride itself was lovely and there was lots to see as to not get bored. It is obvious the horses are well cared for... More

First time on horseback (I'd never even seen a horse up close) at Rancho Baaxal, and they made the experience incredible. They helped by arranging transportation from our hotel to their ranch. The staff was warm, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. They began by explaining about each horse's personality, and letting us know what we should expect. Our guides checked in... More
