You can spend the whole day and will not be enough
Huge place, you can stay all day long and have a lot of activities. There is a Publo Maya, very interesting. Also, a lot of birds or kinds and butterflies. They even breed them so I saw a 15 day recent born guacamaya, amazing. There is a river where you can swim for 800 m. Five restaurants with good food and a lot of other activities.

    Great day out!
Great fun! We spent the day here, and it was great! Lots to do, different things to see! Our favourite part was swimming with the turtles in the snorkelling pool. The staff are so lovely and helpful & the food is brilliant too.

    Check It Out
I enjoyed it very much. The scuba stingray experience was one of a kind. The nature and animals were beautiful. Went during Day of The Dead fest, well worth it. The show at the end was the best part Cons: expensive One and done type of attraction The river is man made, the "rock" on the left is pretty much wallpaper
Dear Damian. Thank you so much for your visit! We appreciate the time you took to leave us a great review and we're thrilled that you enjoyed the Scuba Stingray activity. We're also glad that the show and our Life and Death Traditions Festival met your expectations. It's a truly unique place in the world worth visiting
It's an outstanding park. It's, in my opinion, a lot better than any park in Orlando. The reason for that is because it's in perfect harmony with nature. They respect and take care of it. You can do so many things. Activities like swimming in the river, snorkeling, visit the aquarium, the aviary, the butterflies, pumas +++. There are also excellent shows during the day and evening
Dear Beliza, Thank you so much for visiting Xcaret! We appreciate the time you took to leave us an excellent review and we're so glad to hear that you enjoyed our more than 50 natural and cultural attractions. All your comments motivate us to continue providing magical experiences to each of our visitors. Fantastic variety of experiences
Xcaret has a bit of everything, from a Mayan village, to an amazing aviary, butterfly dome, orchid greenhouse and flowers, animals, archaeological sites, beaches, water based activities and a spectacular show. We managed to have a good wander round and see an overview of everything in 1 day but didn’t do any additional paid activities or the included river swim, you could easily spend multiple days here. We visited during the Festival of Life and Death which was an even more special experience. This combines lots of highlights of Mexico in one place and we really enjoyed ourselves and learnt a lot during our visit.
Dear visitor. Thank you so much for visiting Xcaret! We appreciate the time you took to leave us such an amazing review, and it's great to hear that you enjoyed our Festival of Life and Death Traditions as well as our other cultural attractions. All your comments motivate us to continue providing unique and unforgettable experiences to each of our visitors. It would be great to have you back soon at this or at any other park of Grupo Xcaret, such as Xavage, Xoximilco, and Xenotes in Cancun. Xel-Há, Xenses, Xplor and Xplor Fuego in the Riviera Maya. Good day out
For starters it’s not as big as you think but you can take all day to go round various parts at a relaxing pace and rest in between. Do your “wet” activities first, get some lunch, have a rest on the beach, then go round the rest of it. The evening show is good and worth getting an Xcaret Plus ticket which includes your lunch and the evening show. There are plenty of drinking water top up places so buy one bottle of drink and top up as you go round. The locker system is good so you don’t have to carry your stuff round all day. Plenty of photo opportunities as you go round but the professional photos are very expensive.
Dear Sally. Thank you so much for visiting Xcaret! It's a pleasure to hear that you had a great day at our eco-park and we're glad that you enjoyed our natural and cultural attractions. We would like to mention that our photo package has the advantage of being unlimited, and our visitors can take all the photos they wish. In addition, our photos are professional and of high quality, taken automatically from unique angles. Nevertheless, we'll take your comments into consideration in order to continue improving our experiences. Great family Mexico experience
We have now done both Xcaret and Xelha. Here are our observations: Xcaret—more culturally oriented. Animals, ruins, cultural exhibits, lazy river, beach, and nighttime spectacular. Xelha—more actively oriented. Mangroves float, ziplines, ropes courses, huge water slides and crazy bridge, etc. Regarding Xcaret, we stayed at the Hard Rock Riviera Maya. 20 minutes away—which was wonderful. We were some of the first to arrive. We chose to do the dolphin experience—which was spectacular. If some in your party aren’t swimming with the dolphins, there is a viewing area. You will get some pictures and videos, but it will be from a distance and not directly facing you. The picture packages for the dolphins are ridiculously priced. Xcaret and Xelha have the park phot package. You can scan your wristband on something like 60 cameras placed throughout the park and they load into your online account. The kids loved finding them and taking crazy pictures. The show is really good—but it makes for a really, really long day. Still, I recommend doing it. Great experience!
Dear Brad. Thank you so much for visiting us! We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your experiences at our eco-parks. All your comments are really valuable and help us to continue working on the improvement and innovation of our service. Full day needed to see all they have. Underground river a blast; jaguars were awesome to see as were the butterflies and birds in the aviaries. Evening show fun and good history attached to dancing seen.

    Great day out
Amazing day out with lots to do. Top tips do the water activities first. We did the Cenote/underground river then spent some time at the beach before getting changed into dry clothes Animals: We loved seeing the animals the butterfly sanctuary and bird aviary were beautiful with waterfalls and bridges too. There are also turtles, flamingos, monkeys, jaguars. They also have an aquarium with lots of marine life. You can do optional activities such as swim with dolphins and sharks. We chose not to do this as there was so much to do already and we have done this activity elsewhere Food: We chose to do the plus package which includes a buffet lunch. There are a choice of restaurants and the food was really good lots of variety and delicious. Show: The show at night was amazing so so good. Well worth staying for. Top tip would get there early we got there about an hour and half early and seats were starting to fill up. Overall such an amazing day actually wish we got there earlier. We booked a tour through our rep and didn’t arrive until 11am would recommend arriving earlier if you can.

    Viva Xcaret!
We had a fabulous time at Xcaret. It's hard to describe - a mash up of a theme park, botanic gardens, a zoo, and a celebration of Mexico. It's like if the Smithsonian museum system was built around Mexican Culture and oriented for fun. Absolutely worth the money - which was a pleasant surprise. Go early if you can and do the water activities before the park becomes too crowded, then make sure to visit the attractions around the Mayan village.

This is quite popular. I was more interested in the night show so only booked a night pass (which is really not that much less than the all day pass) but I had plenty of time in the park to do the River and visit the Mayan village. It is well organized with nice colored lines to help you find your way.

In regards to Covid safety the park is doing measures but guests are not social distancing and many are not wearing masks. During the show the mask wearing was better and all the dancers in the show are wearing masks.

It is great to visit, probably a bit too expensive for what it is.

We visited this park during our New Year cruise trip. We booked it through Carnival Conquest. Our daughter loves parrots and a parrots world it is! This is a very reasonable tour to book through cruise because the park ticket itself costs $100, and you pay the same amount for the tour which includes transportation and guide. It's better do it through the cruise because of the length of the tour. Since the park is huge and has so much to see, so it's a longer tour. When booking through the cruise you are guaranteed to make back to the ship so not to miss the sailing time. The ferry to main land where the park is is quite long, about 35 minutes. We were lucky to have a wonderful weather and calm sea. I can see in a not very calm day some may face sea sick during the ferry ride if not prepared. Our tour guide Karla was very cheerful and personal. She helped to transfer our belongings from the starting point of river floating to the end point so we didn't have to rent the safe and save us the time from having to make a return trip for the belongings. She explained the history and interests to the people who were with her and made sure everyone gets back in time for the final ferry. I highly recommend this park/trip. It's very beautiful and diverse. You get to enjoy the sea, the floating river, the tropical vegetation, the culture/history, the birds, manatees, dolphins, etc. If you go from cruise, just remember you'll need to prepare for a waving ferry ride.

This park surprised us by having 2 full days or more of things to do and see. The most popular attraction is the choice of 3 rivers to float on wearing life vests that take you through caves and jungle. The water is about 6 feet deep and the rivers each take about 45 minutes to complete the float trip. We also enjoyed the aquarium, an aviary, butterfly house, manatees, sharks, dauphins, Jaguar, puma, and bromeliad and orchid exhibits. There are nice beaches and snorkeling available as well as a children’s area but in the 2 days we did not do those since we could enjoy them at our resort, The evening show was very good and a definite must see, but lasted 2 hours with a lot of it in Spanish. This park had won awards for its ecology programs and we could understand why. Lots of activities for both couples and families of all ages. We stayed at the Occidental XCaret next to the park so we could easily walk there and back and even come back to the resort for a meal. Weekly passes are available for those who want to do it at a slower pace. This park requires a lot of walking over uneven trails so it is not very handicapped friendly and is not suited for those with limited walking ability.

Amazing day with way too much to do. We were on a cruise and if I had known about the size of the place and the boat ride and bus ride to get to it I would have probably opted for something else. That being said, this place is amazing. Ask you tour guide to recommend a restaurant. The four of us ate a very large lunch for about $70 american including tip at a beach side restaurant. The same meal here would have been atleast $60. If you want to see alot of stuff be ready to walk. If not pick a place on the beach and enjoy yourself.

It is a nice day out, we had lunch on the beach which was really nice and it worked out better than the buffet.

Be aware that if you have not booked the buffet option then avoid the restaurants as they will try to rip you off giving you huge drinks and forcing you to have alcohol.
Unfortunately they have no drinks menu and the staff try to sell you expensive alcoholic drinks, I did not enjoy arguing with the woman and we ended up walking away.

Hello! Thank you for your review. We are glad to know about your experience first hand. Regarding your message, drinks with alcohol are an option you can add to your meal at the moment, not matter if you try a la carte or a buffet restaurant. These are not included in the buffet, and you can take the decision to choose them off of the suggestions we can offer. Nevertheless, the Xcaret staff is trained under high Customer Service standards to assist you during the day of your visit. Please take our apologies if the service didn't meet your expectations this time. We will take your comments to verify our practices. If you wish, you can send us your information to customerservice@xcaret.com to start a detailed review. Kind regards.

We went to Xcaret last week, it was a great experience. We carefully managed our itinerary and did both the Blue River and the Maya River.

Our suggestion:
1. Pack light so that you can skip the lockers. They have great system to bring your stuff to the end of the river.
2. If you are buying the plus ticket, hold your buffet option till late in the afternoon. It would be a long day in the park if you stay for the show. Eat breakfast before you enter, and buy some snacks if you are hungry around mid-day. Eating the buffet around 4-5pm is a better option in terms of managing the energy level with less disruption to your itinerary.
3. You may consider do all the dry activities first (brown, white and blue routes) first and then go to the river. That way you may avoid the big hurdle of people in the river and have the comfort of walking around with your dry clothes as much as you could.
5, Stay and see the show!!! You won't regret it.

This park is breathtaking! There are so many things to see and do. We swam with the sharks, went down the river through caves (Azul river), saw hundreds of animals, visited the incredible Mayan village, watched the impressive drum show, etc... The food is plentiful and delicious. The show in the evening will forever stay in our hearts. It compares with cirque du Soleil. We paid extra for the dinner during the show and were really pleased as it was a 7 course dinner with very good drinks and a gastronomic experience.

The employees and artists at XCARET! are proud, friendly and eager to share their food, history and culture.

In Xcaret there are underground rivers, horses show, all type of animals, restaurants and the best is the night show. To make the most of our day, we followed the map for the various areas we wanted to see. This is our third visit and we still get excited to see the animals, snorkel in the underground rivers and swim at the beach. The show started at 7pm which was late after spending the day walking and swimming at the park. We recommend they start the show earlier since there are a lot of families with children and the show last two hours 7-9pm. The customs, the drama and music were amazing, a must see. We didn't get the ticket with the buffet included. We just bought food (a la carte) or drinks whenever we were hungry. In prior visits the food at the buffets was cold, not worth the price you pay with the ticket. Overall we recommend a visit to Xcaret if you are in Playa del Carmen or Cancun.

This park was BEAUTIFUL!
We bought Xcaret Plus tickets & all that meant was that we would have access to a beautiful underground/cave river & included access to the lockers as well as 1 buffet sit. We booked this trip at our hotel through one of the agents working with Expedia. He didn’t let us know it would be an ALL day trip (also one fault for not asking while we were booking). The whole bus ride there we were presented which a big range of activities for us to reserve when we got to the park. However we were never told none of them were included & it would all be an extra cost per activity so I didn’t like the way they did that.
We ended up deciding to only do 1 activity which was the Sea Trek & the 2 people photo package which was the greatest idea ever made. The park is HUGE. There’s different color lines on the paths to make it easier to find different places to get to. We walked around the park from about 9:45-1:30 then headed to the lockers to change into our swimsuits & competed the Sea Trek. I got to feed sting rays & touch them which was a cool experience.
We then floated the underground river & I have no clue how to swim but still was brave enough to do it. Best experience ever!
The night shows were nice but very long. By the time you get to them you’re so worn out that you’re just ready to go home.
We walked almost all of the park so I wouldn’t recommend buying too many activities or you won’t enjoy the park.
The photo scanning package was a bracelet that you scan & there’s camera spots around the park that take your picture automatically. We took about 120 pictures & still only paid $60
So definitely a good deal to not have to worry about your phone.

This was my 3rd trip to Xcaret but first with my children. I can not say enough how much I love this park. The animals, the culture, the beach, the food.. All of it is amazing. This tripnwas a little different due to the pandemic but even with restrictions, masks, and some things operating differently it was an amaz9ng day. My family chose to do the dolphine experience. We paid for the upgrade package which states 6 peiple max. We are a family of 4 and had 5 others join us so that was not accurate but it was still a wonderful experience. The only negatives i had was we paid at the gate 100.00 USD for photo package just to learn it would be another $250.00 if we wanted any of our dolphine photos. This was not disclosed at time of package purchase. It was not an expected expense and did limit other things we wanted to do. The other disapointment was we got there at 10am (had hotel group transportation so out of our control) and dinner tickets for at show was already sold out. With 2 children not being able to eat dinner until after 10pm when show was over and we got home was hard. I understand that with social dostancing the tickets are limited but had i been able to purchase in advance it wouldnt have been an issue. Unfortunately its an in park option only.
Litterally everything else was perfect. We could have spent 2 whole days maybe more exploring this park.
