THis stop was second of a two part excursion. The atmosphere was cute and enjoyable with sun, lively entertainment and beach views. However the experience we anticipated quickly dwindled. As we walked down the many, many, many, did I mention many? Roads of little shops, bars and restaurants. Owners/workers were eagerly trying to get you to go in their stores.... More

Nice options. From Zara to Old Navy. A little of something for everyone... I would recommend to take a pass through the area. Higher priced then other malls in Playa Del Carmen

Fifth Avenue never gets boring!! I visit it every year, it always changes and it is wonderful!! Something for everybody and the stores always have new things every year such as souvenirs T-shirts new shops are popping up all the time so I never find it repetitive to visit Fifth Avenue multiple times on my stay every year.

Put on your comfy shoes and enjoy the people-watching as you walk along Quinta Avenida. Whether you're into buying clothes, picking up souvenirs, eating, or just watching the diverse crowds, there's something here for you. There are bars, ice cream shops, cafes, and restaurants aplenty. The south side gets more crowded as you get closer to the cruise ship docks.... More

5th Ave has many great points of interest, from great restaurants, people watching (you won't get bored), to shopping. Enjoy ... Don't let the vendors discourage you, go along, be polite and have fun. Beware of ATM's on 5th, don't recommend using, use one at Mega or Walmart, safer from scams. But don't get stuck on 5th, sides streets and... More

A very long stretch of pedestrian-only traffic. Lots of touristy shops, amazingly great cheap massages, and ton of restaurants. Fun nightlife, very safe. Sadly, the beach is stunning yet erosion has caused it to hardly be a beach. I hope the city can make an effort to preserve what's left of this stunning place.

In spite of bad news of last days about crime attack @ bmp festival ; I want to share my experience in Playa del Carmen of last December : Quinta Avenida is amazing; hundreds of restaurants and bistrot : mexican and international food were super! Ok also the shops if we consider that we are not in NY :-)

A few years back, this place was all Mexican...now one whole side of the street is American stores. It's kinda nice to see the mix, but I wish they'd all accept American money...
