First holiday as a couple, we decided to go and see the Coba ruins in Mexico. We had an amazing experience there with our tour guide Raul, great to see it wasn’t commercialised.

A very cool spot to travel. The history is unbelievable. You can rent a bike for $6 cnd, its worth it to make it easy to see all the ruins without having to walk this huge area. You cannot climb any structures, this is to preserve the crumbling pyramid. Watch out for the turkey guarding the ruins, its not at all friendly lol.

Where do i begin? i was excited about this trip but having Raul as our tour guide from TUI well he just made the trip even more exciting and fantastic. Very informative, funny and easy going. He knew so much regarding the mayan culture you felt as if you went back in time when he was speaking. The ruins themselves are incredible and the cenote swim and village visit to the mayan people is phenomenal. Thank you so much Raul. I hope TUI realises how lucky they are to have you.

The best trip!! Carmen the guide was nothing short of a lovely person who had incredible mayan knowledge and made the day fun. It is a long day, so bring comfy shoes, swimming costumes and cash. Thank you Carmen!

Really enjoyed this trip and our guide Carmen was amazing, very knowledgable and made the entire trip a fantastic experience.
Tour of ruins was great and enjoyed the ‘tuc-tuc’ ride (although did feel a little guilty!) please tip the guys its well deserved

Carmen really made the tour very informative and interesting - a lovely lady

The mayan family visit was great although i was annoyed that some other guests on trip failed to respect that it was their home - smoking in the home as well as stubbing cigarettes out on their floor - just rude

Cenote was amazing but if you have mobility issues you may struggle to make it down

All in all a great trip - made extra special by Carmen. Could have listened to her for hours she deffinately knows ‘whats cooking’

Also shout out to Raul our driver - kept us well hydrated

Fascinating day with our amazing guide Carmen. We booked through TUI having visited Chichen Itza and Tulum on previous visits to Mexico.

The site is incredible set in amongst the jungle. Lovely visit to the ruins followed by a great lunch and visit to Mayan family and refreshing dip in a cenote.

We were recommended by our rep to take apples as gifts for the family which we procured from the hotel breakfast bar. We were glad we took water shoes as the steps to the cenote are slippy and not suitable for flip flops. Make sure to take bug spray - we bought ours at the hotel and weren’t bitten once.

Thanks for a fab day! X

Great day tour booked with TUI. Our guide was Raul, he did amazing job explaining Mayan history and traditions. We started the tour with Coba visit where we took tuk tuk. We paid 150 pesos for it plus tip for the driver, defined worth the money. After that we've visited local Mayan house and then had lunch. Food was lovely. Our last stop was cenote, before getting there we went to see Mayan Shaman who gave everyone a blessing and then did a separate one for all couples that were on their honeymoon. I highly recommend this for everyone who wants to see a part of Mexico history!

A very well organised day trip
Our guide for the day was Carmen, she is a very warm and friendly guide who really connects with you,she has a fantastic way of getting you engrossed with the history of the mayan culture
We rode in the tuk tuk for 150 mexican pesos fir 2 people and tipped the driver 50 pesos on top well worth it,I'm sure our driver had had 3 weetabix in the morning it was no mean feet peddling the cycle with 2 adults in the heat of the jungle
Each stop at the ruins was explained to perfection
Lunch was provided and it was very well cooked and delicious
Next sop was the cenote.we were dropped of a 5 minute walk away through the jungle in a little light shower of rain, down into a dry cenote for a cleansing ritual which I found very fulfilling
Then another walk this time in the pouring rain and thunder storm which made it more realistic being in the jungle to the wet cenote for our swim
decending down a spiral staircase to the awe inspiring cenote the water is so clear and cool.we spent about 20 minutes swimming
Take water shoes they are the safest for climbing down the wooden stairs

This has to be one of the best trips I have been on and well worth the money

Such an interesting and varied day out. We visited the Mayan ruins and then a traditional Mayan dwelling. The blessing from the Mayan priest and then the swim in the cenote. Really enjoyed it.
