About
Though less than a mile from the Tulum Archaeological Site, Playa Paraiso is surrounded by untouched forests, giving it an idyllic and secluded feel—perfect for relaxing at. Take a dip in the crystal-clear waters before indulging in some delicious seafood at one of the beachfront restaurants. You can also go on a boat tour to snorkel around coral reefs. For better weather, you might want to plan your trip between April and May to avoid hurricane season. During the warmer months, you may come across seaweed on the beach, but don't let that stop you from enjoying this beautiful spot. – Tripadvisor

- armandoOklahoma17 contributionsGreat cheap place to relax by the beachWe got the day pass which included a bed, table and 3 chairs for 500 pesos. We were able to get full service, food was great and drink prices were cheaper than some of the other places. Service was great, you get access to the beach but it is all a public beach but it was still very nice! Def recommend if you are staying in downtown Tulum and want to visit the beach for the day.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 13 January 2024
- Christian MCopenhagen, Denmark6,223 contributionsOne of the world's most beautiful beaches - and nearly desertedPlaya Paraiso is one of the most beautiful beaches we've ever visited - and we've been to several Caribbean islands as well as the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand, all synonymous with gorgeous beaches. In fact, some of the world's leading beach experts have Playa Paraiso on their list of the best beaches globally. The sand is pure white powder (impossible to brush off afterward), the warm water is a perfect turquoise blue with not a single stone or unevenness, and the waves are fun without being intimidating (but maybe not entirely suitable for young children). The entrance fee to all of Tulum's famous beaches is 60 pesos per day, just so you know. In return, you practically have the paradise beach to yourself if you show up around 10-11 in the morning. Unbelievable.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 25 January 2024
- Paul Q1 contributionTruly felt like paradiseThis is definitely one beach to visit if you come to Tulum. By far it was our favorite. Beautiful calm turquoise waters with white sand and when we were there no seaweed.Yes there is military presence when you arrive that may check your car so be prepared but not alarmed. There is a fee to enter Beach area 14.00 us $ for couple where they will give you a band to wear for the day. Parking will be free just as long as you rent umbrella and beds which is exactly what we wanted to do for 30.oo us $ worth every penny because the area is beautiful and so relaxing. And then we spent around 70.00 us $ on drinks and food which was also a good deal considering we where there for 7 hours food drinks very Good this place is beautiful a most visit. Very safe.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 4 April 2024
- Pamela BrewerSan Diego, California46 contributionsExtraordinary experiencePlaya Paraíso near Tulum is stunning. With white sands and clear turquoise water, it's perfect for swimming and relaxing. My friends and I loved lounging under palm trees and enjoying the beach clubs' food and drinks. We also visited the nearby Tulum ruins, adding some culture to our day. Despite its popularity, the beach felt peaceful, especially early in the morning or late afternoon. Watching the sunrise and sunset was magical. Playa Paraíso truly is a paradise and made for an unforgettable trip with friends.Visited May 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 20 May 2024
- rodbecerra04Armenia, Colombia25 contributionsTulum BeachesThis is one of the most amazing beaches I ever visit, long and wide including how long you can walk inside the ocean before you get the water at your waist level. The color of the water is incredible, from light blue to green emerald all in the same area. The small lodging places with restaurants located along the area provide sunbeds and towels at a very comfortable price. Food is very good.Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 31 May 2024

We hung out here for a few hours and paid 500 peso to stay in their "VIP" section and we had a bed with shade to ourselves. It was very relaxing but the beach itself was pretty crowded. We remained at our bed to make sure we didn't get too close to anyone and occasionally went out to the water. Probably out of all the places we visited in Tulum, we enjoyed the margaritas here the most. I can't exactly say the service was bad here because our waiter was taking care of so many parties and looked a little overwhelmed, but every time he helped us he was always kind and attentive. So really because he was so busy I don't think the service was bad they just didn't have a lot of staff for such a big beach restaurant. Compared to other beach clubs we went to this one seemed to be more family friendly.

Exceptional beach, white sand, gentle slope to water. We parked is pArking lot. 200 pesos. The first place you walk to tried to tell us we needed to pay 250 per person if we didn’t eat there and rent their chairs and get a receipt. We walked down the beach to Esperanzas and with a min. Of 500 pesos per person we got use of chairs, excellent food and service.

Playa Paraiso is a beach club on Tulum's public beach. It's a gorgeous stretch of white sand with tall palm trees providing shade. Prices depend on how you want to spend your day - on a beach chair, a beach lounge with cushions, lounges with a dining table, or beach beds. In addition to the rental, there is a minimum required spend on food or beverages. There were two of us and opted for beach lounge chairs with cushions. Had a great front row view of the beach under an umbrella and a palm tree and the staff makes sure you are happy and fed. Food may be a bit overpriced but hey, you are eating at one of the most beautiful white sand beaches on planet earth.
We came in December for 12 days and there didn't seem to be the red seaweed problem that had been there the previous year. We hung out almost every day at Playa Paraiso, except when it rained.
You don't have to rent a beach chair in order to enjoy Playa Paraiso - you can just set up your towel on the same stretch of beach. You'll just have to pay to use the restroom and shower (which is included in the price if you rent a beach chair). All are welcome at their restaurant also. Their margaritas are good and strong! My favorite are the frozen mango margaritas.
Definitely one of my favorite beaches, on par with the beaches I've been to in Bali, Thailand, and the Philippines.

Gorgeous beach with easy access to food and drinks at a variety of restaurants and hotel properties.
You can easily set up shop on the sand for free or pay a minimum in booze and bites for a shaded cabana.
While there were many people swimming and relaxing, the beach never felt crowded and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit!

White sand and turquoise ocean. Coming here makes me wonder why people both going all the way to Hawaii. You have to deal with a little drama to get parked, but go before 9:30 and just grab free “street” parking. A little later and it will cost $180-200 peso, not horrible. We had a great time paying to hang out at Pancho villa, and we also entered at the public entrance and did our own thing did free one day. When you pay to stay at a beach club, we get access to bathrooms, shower and a place to sit. If you’re going to eat down there anyway, might as well pay to have some shade and a chair.
We paid $200 peso per adult minimum to enjoy covered chairs steps from the water. The $200 each was applied toward the food and drink we consumed. Easily went way over that amount during the course of 4 hours on the beach. Great live music and attentive staff. Highly recommend Poncho Villa while you are at Paraiso.

Has beautiful sand but it isn't the "palm fringed" beach I expected. Difficult to get to but all of the public beaches in the area are: you have to travel down a narrow road with close vegetations...often only one car each way. If you drive go to the end of the road then u-turn and park on the side of the road. I didn't find it easy to find which beach was which. I know it is one of the first ones. My second trip I decided to just park at a beach club but the ones i found didnt open 'til 10
There are some palm trees that provide some shade but get there early. I thought I saw a sign that said no coolers but everyone had one. The seaweed barrier didnt extend to where I was sitting but the city did a great job cleaning up the beach early in the morning.
Overall it was nice, though. Again, beautiful sand and clean beach.

Our family was looking for big beach to play ultimate frisbee, play in the waves, build sand castles while also have shade, seating, food/drinks and restrooms and this was the place! This was open to the general public for a fee to rent a cabana but was well worth it. There is also a company providing snorkeling tours to see turtles and sting rays which was very cool. The beach was very busy and crowded at times.

We went as a group and had an amazing time. We rented some cabanas which included a minimum amount to spend that was extremely reasonable. The food and drinks were DELICIOUS. And the service was great! Our server Henrry was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of at all times. Thank you to Carlos as well for also checking on us throughout our time there. Can’t wait to come back!

I chose for a day tulum and discovered this beach, palm trees sand and water fascinates you. It is a place where you deserve to spend a day, and you will be very relaxed. You also get loungers if you want, but on the sand it is much better

We waited over half an hour without service and had to walk around just to get a waiter’s attention. The food was awful. My husband had pork loin tacos that were not loin. Half the meal was chunks of fat. My Greek salad had a cup of vinegar swimming in the bottom after I finished it and only three tiny pieces of feta. Far too acidic. When we left they wanted us to pay at the parking lot. Apparently the waiter should be giving out a parking coupon when we paid our bill. And we did tip generously. So we had to drive back in and hunt down our waiter and try to make him remember us. Altogether a big disappointment. The massage was great though. Strong and well done. We came today because many of our friends love this beach and they said there is no minimum only the cost of the beds. That changed in December. Not a big deal since we planned to eat but the food wasn’t worth it. We won’t be back.
