    The best experience ever!
The cenote is wonderful! The experience we’ve got is unbelievable, especially the guide we had, his name is Carlos and he’s the most professional, kindest and high-qualified guide ever! Totally recommend this cenote to visit and to meet Carlos there;)

    Highly recommend! Excellent experience!
This tour highly exceed our expectations! We drove up late in the afternoon as a group of 4. Met by Carlos who explained the tour and price of 650 pesos. We agreed, waited 20 minutes and then began our tour after nobody else arrived. We were provided with wetsuits and allowed to take our phone on the tour to take some great photos! Carlos stopped at some great spots for us to take photos and took some group photos also. The caves were incredible and Carlos pointed out so many great things. Highly recommend this tour! A+ 10/10.

    Fabulous
We have been to other cenotes in the past but this was by far superior. Alvaro was an excellent host and very knowledgeable as well. Definitely the best cenote we have ever toured - we spent an hour exploring the caves and saw some fabulous sites. I would highly recommend this one.

    Superb experience.
Must do Cenote in the Quintanoo Roo. It is a gem. Carlos our instructor guide was awesome. Clean and safe facility. Family friendly. Cave diving, crystal clear blue water # very deep # Cenote Sac Actún, the second largest underground cave system in the world. Highly decorated with stalagmites and stalactite (tens of thousands of year old formations), it was incredible!

    Incredible cenote and excellent tour!
We had such a great time at Sac Actun! Our guide was Isa and he is so knowledgeable and passionate about his work- he made our experience in this incredible space even better. The pictures of this place don’t do justice to its magnificence- you have to go and see it. Worth every penny!

Really Amazing Location for some breathtaking underwater views. Isa our guide was really amazing and helped me and my wife navigate through the caves. Totally recommend anyone who is in the area to check this out.

    Spectacular Cenote
What a spectacular, awe inspiring experience! Our guide, Bany, was absolutely amazing!!! He is so knowledgeable and goes out of his way to make sure you have the best experience at Sac Actun. My best advice, avoid going in a large group or indulge in a private tour. It is well worth it!

Our favorite experience of all while we were in Mexico was at Sac Actun Cenote
It's a pleasure to be able to write a review for Isa at Sac Actun cenote. We asked our driver which cenote he would recommend and after considering our question he told us he would take us to his favorite. I have to say, when we turned left off of the Main Street and proceeded to drive deep into the jungle on a bumpy road, I was a bit concerned. But at the end of the road you get to a stand where they have wet suits/snorkls/masks and for around $400 US dollars (don't quote me exactly as there were a lot oef us trying to make the peso/US dollar exchange math in our head but this is about what I recall) our group of 6 was escorted into the cenote by our guide Isa who was FABULOUS! He explained that he "did not speak great English" but let me tell you, he spoke perfectly good English and was able to describe for us each and every wonderful aspect of the cenote, from the pre historic skeletal remains discovered there, to the stalagmites and stalactites and how they formed, the plants and fish we saw, the bats inside the cave etc. He was very aware of our safety, and while he allowed us toe explore, he helps us safe and was just a delight to be with. Th experience was like none other and one that I will forever rank as my favorite things we did all week while in Tulum. The experience was spiritual for me and my family. The natural beauty is just breathtaking. I would highly recommend you do this while you are in the Tulum area and if you do, tell Isa we said hi and THANK YOU for a wonderful experience.

    A must see!
Well worth the visit! We took a collectivo from our resort and walked to Sac Actun, it took us about 70 minutes to walk. Gal was our guide and was interesting and knowledgeable. The highlight was getting to see bats! I loved it! It was nice that Gal took photos with our camera and we were able to take our own photos throughout the swim. Highly recommend. We started our walk back and a family offered to drive us back to the main road. That was a bonus!

    Amazing experience
Cenote Sac Actun was a highlight of our trip. We are always worried about experiences that are too touristy and this experience was great. We went later in the day and there were not any crowds. We booked the group tour with Alvaro but after a 20 minute wait we were the only ones. Alvaro was great and highly recommended. He seemed to really care that we had a great time and it never felt rushed. Highly recommend!

Absolutely stunning! We arrived not long after it opened at 9.15am and glad we did as a large tour bus arrived after us. We decided to do collective tour (650 pesos each, plus tip) rather than private tour (350 USD). There were 8 of us in total.
It was really amazing site to see, we are so glad we did it! Just incredible what nature creates.

We were a family of 6 and we went as a group, just us with the super Carlos as our guide.

Geared up in wetsuits (very necessary as it's pretty cold), we were given torches to explore above and below the water. All the time Carlos was attentive to be sure we were all safe, as well as explaining things and pointing out specific columns etc.

The tour lasted about 45 minutes which was enough, but was a really fabulous experience. The cenote is stunningly beautiful. We have so many fantastic photos and videos from the tour, so be sure to buy one waterproof mobile phone cover so you can take pics down there.

We all highly recommend this tour, and to be honest the 650 pesos/head is reasonable value.

Please tip Carlos afterwards, he deserves it!

We arrived around 10:45 and had to wait 15 minutes for a few more people to show up to go on a group tour (instead of the much more expensive private tour). We had just our family and one other couple on our tour, so totally worth it. The MX$650 per person price gets you snorkel gear, a wet suit (wear your swim suit underneath), and a guide. You enter the Pet Cemetery cenote and then float to Sac Actun. The underground river system is the largest in the world and connects 220 cenotes (hence the need for a guide). The water is cold, but the wet suit did a great job of keeping us all comfortable for the duration of the ~50 minute tour. It was beautiful. We took a lot of underwater videos and pictures with our waterproof phone cases (also available for purchase for $10). Our guide took family photos of us in 2 different spots. Of note, the drive to the cenote is a long bumpy dirt road (that passes several other cenotes including the very popular Dos Ojos). My family agreed it was worth the visit for a very different cenote experience.

The highlight of our trip was taking a tour of Cenotes Sac Actun with Charlie. He is a professional scuba guide but he made himself available to take through the deepest parts of this magical Cenote and his knowledge and expertise made the experience that much more impactful. Contact Charlie for a 90 minute tour rather than the 15-30 minute tour offered by the Cenotes owner. It was well worth the extra money!

I went to Cenotes Sac Atun over my trip at Tulum, and I am so glad to have done it (one of the highlights of my trip for sure). The place was something I have never seen/experienced before, and swimming in the caves between the stalactites, stalagmites and columns was magical. Over there, in the caves, you are only allowed to go with a guide, and our group was 8 people, so it didn’t feel crowded at all. Our guide, Carlos, was very humorous and knowledgeable. The establishment is very good too, they provide a very high-quality and clean wetsuits, life jacket, snorkeling mask and pipe. At the entrance, they also sell water-proof phone cases for 10$ (in Dec, 2021) for you to take photos if you want. Something I pity to not have done is to take my optical lenses with me inside. If I go there again, maybe I would get a floating tie for my optical glasses so that they wouldn’t fall in the caves (if that’s allowed); there are very large cave spaces and it might be even more magical to see them clearly.

For logistics, I drove there by car, which took about 35 minutes from downtown Tulum. There were taxis parked there on site, so maybe one can get there with a taxi and come back with the ones from there (I am not sure about this though).

This is one of the best Cenotes I visited around Tulum is just as good as Rio Secreto with the added bonus of people being allowed to use cameras (I would recommend water proof cameras).
Originally this was the first Cenote I wanted to visit but my GPS got a bit confused🤭
after asking a local I was given the right information, here it is for those who want to go there:
the entrance is the same as Cenote Dos Ojos but you need to travel about 2 kilometres further up the road, if you are catching a taxi just tell the driver you want to go to Cenote Sac Actun (make sure you hire the taxi for the day rather than the run) if you are driving just inform people at the gate of the park that you are going to Sac Actun.
Another thing to consider is that at the moment there's no food being sold there but you can eat at any of the 2 restaurants at Cenote Dos Ojos.
The guides at Sac Actun are very laidback but once the tour starts you realise they are friendly and helpful.
Enjoy Cenote Sac Actun!

Wowy, what a great experience.

Sweet boy rates going to this cenota as one of the best things he has ever done while travelling.

Sweetboy and sweetgirl got there early in the morning at 9am and were lucky enough to be the only people there! We had a local guide named Juan and he gave us a Juan in a million experience!.

We swam for a good hour through all the caves, they go on and on and it’s just amazing how they have come to be.

We stopped at some other cenotes on the way home and they were nowhere near as good at this.

Sweet Tip: Get there right when it opens and there is no-Juan there, 9am I think, so you don’t have to share with a loud bunch of tourists, the noise does travel under there.

Do yourself a favour and get down to these cenotes for a Jaun-ce in a life time experience.

I must admit I was pretty indifferent about going to this. The concierge at our hotel suggested it so we thought we would give it a try. We have traveled the world and this was one of the coolest things we have done or ever seen. About 10 people in our group. They give you snorkeling gear and option ($10) for a wet suit. I would highly recommend the wet suit as the water is very cold. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and very funny. He said this was the largest cenotes in Mexico. And there seem to be quite a few in the area. Our tour was about an hour or hour and a half which was the perfect amount of time. Highly recommend.
