Visited early December. It literally felt like being on a desolate planet, very eerie. I imagine it would be nicer in the summer when everything is green?
BEWARE of lots of blind corners and huge cows freely grazing lurking literally anywhere. Although there are warnings about cows freely grazing all over the bog and despite of best efforts of keeping an 'eye out for them' and their size, somehow we don't spot one until you turn a corner and 6 of them are suddenly staring at you from just couple of meters away blocking the path. Judging by the amount of their droppings seen on the way, they too like to stick to the path.
Not ideal when you're accompanies by your dogs.
Would definitely not expect that from a place you have to pay to park!
Not the best experience and would probably not try again even without the dogs in the summer as not keen on cows.

A little tricky to find but when you do its worth the trip. Entry is through a lush garden that has information on the area. We took the path to the left to begin the circuit walk and commenced on the cliff top overlooking the Bog. We were very lucky to be the only people around and as we descended into the flatland of the bog, we saw a large deer bounding off in the distance.
The actual Bog itself is a large seemingly barren area with duckboards traversing across its expanse. it is an almost lunar landscape but is actually rich in flora and fauna.
A stunning and easy, well signed walk with plenty of information boards along the way. This is the kind of place you can still go and enjoy without the hordes of people.

During a holiday in the local area we decided to visit Dersingham Bog for a walk. We had a bit of a nightmare with the sat nav trying to find the car park and ended up driving in circles for about 20 minutes!!!! However we made it in the end (for reference the car park is called Scissors Cross car park in case anyone else wants to look the location up before visiting!)

Once there, we enjoyed a peaceful walk which had lots of interesting wildlife to see - particularly lots of dragonflies and butterflies. We didn't pass anyone at all during our walk, and it really felt like we had escaped to the country even though in reality it is just off the A149.

Highly recommended for a peaceful stroll in a beautiful location.

Follow signs to Wolferton for car parks, no signage on main road. Walk takes max 1 hr, pleasant enough, cattle present, and our dog decided to go for a swim in the boggy water. Not good. There is a distinct lack of good parkland/open space in the area to take dogs off lead apart from the beach, so this made a welcome alternative on a day when the wind made a coastal walk impractical.

If you're in this area, visiting Sandringham perhaps, make an effort to walk here. For the most part it's a pleasant woodland walk but the surprise is coming onto a viewpoint where you look out over the Wash. Read the notice board, (a little faded), where you are standing used to be a cliff over the sea. In other parts of Norfolk, Trimmingham for example, the sea is reclaiming the land. Other way round here. The sea has retreated. Nearby Castle Rising used to be the main port before things changed and King's Lynn took over. A very pleasant walk which can be extended if you wish. Often see deer here.

Was in King’s Lynn area and took a short trip out to this location. What a find! Parked at Wolferton parking spot and took the footpath from there. Along the path we was met with surprising views across the bog and far into the distance. Nice range of birdlife could be spotted and heard. Ideal for a short visit, nice way to spend a couple of hours.

We wanted a short walk to we selected one of the pathways which took us to the Bog itself. We saw the stonechats which were pointed out on the notice boards. It was very peaceful and we hardly saw anyone. Very unspoilt area if you love nature and walking.

Excellent place to walk, a must to see. Five mins from the White House Guest House another excellent to stay. The Bog is within walking distance to Wolferton and it's Royal Station and museum. All three are well worth a visit.

Dersingham Bog on the Sandringham estate is a very good place indeed to see and hear nightjars. It is a very interesting NNR/SSSI: mixed woods surrounding an open valley with a boardwalk over acid bog with sundews, bog asphodel and other bog plants, marsh and woodland birds, moths and rare insects, geological features, trails. Our sunset visit was one of the highlights of our Norfolk trip and we would like to go back again to explore the area.
Note that one of the two car parks, Scissors, is very small, and that getting down the cliff to the bog from the other one is via a long twisty staircase. The nightjars come out just after sundown and can be both seen and heard around the edge of the open area.
Serious anti-insect precautions, such as strong Deet and/or mosquito netting, are essential in the evening!

There seem to be 3 walks available and the are colour coded. The trails are well marked and it's unlikely you will get lost.
My irritation with this place is that there are loads of notices when you enter (mainly telling you what you can't do) and they have even put up a notice to warn of new steps (who does that!) but when you get to the "cliffs" (steep hill) there is nothing!
No board telling you when the sea was there or any information on what it may have looked like. On the top of the cliff by the path there is a bench seat dedicated to John Denver, the singer. No information as to why it was dedicated, was this a secret hangout of his? We will never know as it is obviously more important to tell us about new steps than anything else.
