I used to be a surfer long ago in the mists of time. I had a few hours to spare and took the opportunity to book a lesson. (My old confidence was gone).
The lesson with Mandla was absolutely spot on. His coaching was perfect. I can honestly say I've not seen better. Just for reference: 30 years ago I was a qualified beach lifeguard, level 3 surf instructor and surf coach trainer/assessor. I failed to let the surf school know that until right now. Point is, I guess I'm qualified to say when a surf school is getting it absolutely right! Thanks Ant!!! 😃

It was an awesome experience for my friend and me to surf with Learn2Surf for 3 days! After a very easy booking via WhatsApp we got our first lesson with the professional and motivating teacher. And we were almost surprised that we could already stand on the boards after a short time. We got a lot of helpful advices and caught a lot of waves - that are really good for beginners there.
In contrast to some other places the wetsuits were very clean (and not stinky at all) and thick and the boards were in excellent condition and easy to ride. We highly recommend that place.

The entrance to the Muizenberg office is on the main road through town, you then meet your instructor , and carry your board under the railway line to the beach. Our daughter had a private lesson with Amber, who was very patient and encouraging. Daughter loved it and cant wait to return on our next visit. The surf that end of muizenberg beach is usually pretty gentle making it great for beginners.

On two occasions, my surfing holiday to Cape Town has resulted in me walking around the Muizenburg beachfront searching for Learn2Surf, the company with which I'd made a booking for surfing lessons. On the first occasion, they cancelled the lesson but forgot to tell me. On the second occasion, they had made a mistake with recording the date of my lesson in their diary. Either way, I'd travelled all the way down from Johannesburg and was left watching the other surfers who had booked with the reliable surf schools, practising their moves on the beach. My recommendation : choose another surf school.

Came here to try my hand at a hitting some waves and loved every minute of it. I was greeted in excellent fashion all the staff and found it simply just along the main road. Although not on the beach front it is still no problem to get to the beach and start your day in true surfing fashion with a big wave.
I was given simple instructions and was helped every step of the way to catching a wave in friendly and reassuring manner. The beach is incredible and waves are great for learning and developing on. I had a great time and can only say its a must do when you visit South Africa.

Instructors were very descriptive and professional. Even took footage of us surfing with the Go Pro. Would recommend learn 2 surf and use them again.

I had a package of private lessons with Gift an instructor at Learn2Surf. I had never surfed before and the sea made me uneasy. He had me standing on the foam board on day one and surfing a hardboard by the end of the package. His enthusiasm and passion for surfing is infectious. He was super attentive and encouraging! The school is run professionally, Gift was always early for my sessions. They also take safety really seriously. I would highly recommend taking lessons at Learn2Surf! :)

I had a private lesson booking for my son and myself with 2 instructors
The instructors were from Malawi
They did not have a clue what surfing was about
All they could do was push the board

Our Cape Town Surf Camp clients stay right next door to our surf school and head office, in Muizenberg , at the "Stoked Backpackers". Stoked has an excellent reputation and amazing oceans views!

At our Muizenberg school we do not rent gear to the general public. (all the surf shops on the beachfront rent gear)
Our surfing lessons include the use of ALL the surf gear (at no extra cost).
We DO rent gear to our previous and existing clients - i.e. Once we have taught you how to surf and we know that you know the basics : how to respect the ocean, other surfers and of course our gear - then you may continue to rent/ride the same surfboard and wetsuit that you're used to using during our lessons.
