We loved this walk. About 45mins one way, we got caught in rain only to have it clear to brilliant sunshine with stunning views along the coast. A must do!

I love to walk to Leitisvatn and Trælanípa, winter and summer, autumn and spring. In sunshine and wind. Fascinating in all weather.

In Midvagur there is a sign leading up the hill. It can be difficult to see so go slowly through the town. You can park the car up the hill. From there it is a 3 km walk each way. It’s easy to follow the...More

This lake has nothing to offer individually but it plays an important role in your Instagram-worthy photos which you will never forget for the rest of your life. Especially, if you own a DRONE!! You can see a lot in this 90 minutes hike up...More

If you're visiting the Faroe Islands, the hike around this lake is an absolute must. It takes you out towards some dramatic cliffs and back along the lakeside. If you love landscapre photography, it doesn't get much better than this.

The whole hike to the end and back will take about 2-3 hours, if you are not considering walking to the cliffs as well. It is mostly well marked, but the path seems to meander quite often. Sometimes one can end up on a dead...More

Visited on a drizzly day in September, albeit with the odd break in the clouds. This is a fairly short walk - maybe 2-3 hours if you meander around the various sights. The lay-by is easy to find between Midvagur and Sorvagur, although you might...More

It was raining when we were there, so you could not see the opposite end of the Lake. As a result most of the people in our tour group thought it was a fjord rather than a lake.

Just 45 minutes easy hike on a gravel path and a fabulous view meets you. Make sure to climb the cliffs on both sides of Trælanipa to get the most stunning views. It is well worth the effort. Also make your way down to get...More
