Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The observatory is closed during our visit in Oct 2019, which did not offer a good view of the coast. There is a path leading down to the beach about 2 mins drive away. Enter from a deserted museum to get to the beach and onto the rocks. The view is amazing from the rocks on the beach, especially during sunset

We went for a little hike up Windy Hill but when we got there we realized we could take a ferry to Oedo Island! What a great tour, though we don't speak Korean we really enjoyed the ferry ride and the walking tour of Oedo. Windy Hill, itself isn't much, but is a good outdoor excursion. The traffic and parking are pretty horrific however. You will probably be parking along the road to the little village and walking done to it.

Sinseondae is beautiful. It's a huge rock formation that overlooks the sea. It was raining when I was there, but nothing stopped anyone from climbing up the rocks, even if it was carrying umbrellas and getting damp. Climbing up the rock formation will give you a full view of the other rocks by the sea. It's quite a sight. Oh, you can also walk down to the black pebble beach after coming down.
Last note: Drive there because the public transport is quite infrequent.

Sinseondae Cliff Observatory can easily be visited after Windy Hill. We only went to the observatory which had a decent view of the cliffs from a distance (the observatory and the actual cliffs are a good distance apart from each other). However, from the observatory, it’s hard to appreciate the cool rock formations. We were short on time and out of energy so decided to skip the hike near the cliffs.

Located at the south eastern tip of Geoje, this place was difficult to get to. Taxi from the Gohyun bus terminal to here costs 37,000 won. By far the cheapest way is bus which costs around 1,200 but the frequency of buses is low, plus when we went there was no direct bus, had to take two connecting buses. Transportation aside, once you get to the area to see the sites are walkable. In the same area is Windy Hill, Sinseondae, and the theme museum. Both windy and Sinseondae can be seen within 10 mins. The path is up and down hills and stairs so there is no wheelchair accessibility. Tiny cafes and stores litter the walkways.

While Windy Hill was somewhat cool, Sinseondae across the road was far more interesting and also far less crowded. The rock formations are unique, with a mixture of browns, oranges, and even purples, and with a beautiful outcropping that is either an island or a peninsula, depending on the tides. The pebble beach adjacent to it is also very nice.

My Korean colleuage took me to this magnificent place.
The nature is beautiful here, cliffs and water.
There's a windmill on a small peninsula that's called Windy Hill.
Not so windy, but you a small exercise walking out to it, very beutiful indeed...

Just across the windy hill, this place is really something. Good for taking photos and relaxation. This place is really good for groups and to those who want to get some fresh air.

I would rate this place higher than windy hill. I have visited this place 4 times but I still would love to visit this place again. I don’t know what makes this place beautiful, the sea view or the cliff or the view of the land from the cliff. I can’t say which is more beautiful. It is not a huge place but something about this place makes you happy!

I will recommend driving there because the local buses are infrequent and on peak periods, the jam gets pretty bad and you might need to wait for hours.
I took the cab down but got stranded there for hours because of the bus. Hope this helps!
