Great visit not far from Saumur! A castle beneath a castle! Great visit, which you can do freely or with a guide. It is really interesting to visit and you can also take your dog down into the underground castle too!

The extensive troglodytic spaces made this a particularly memorable château to visit. Well worth the 2h we spent.

Not only is there the Chateau above but there is the cave network cut into the rocks below. Fascinating and unusual. However, a queue for the only two toilets and no coffee shop or anywhere to get a drink.

We were recommended this castle and were told that it was one of a kind. It was indeed as the attraction was the huge underground castle, quite different from the others. It was amazing how deep the moat was and the number of rooms it...More

They can do better than just sell a ticket, but I think this place is very interesting the cellar wine is awesome.

If you're after a big place with ornate furniture you'll be disappointed. What you've got is an incredibly interesting place with a warren of underground rooms that we had great fun exploring. The dry moat was incredible.
